Writing Prompt Number Two: A Scary Story

One day I was riding my bike outside. I was practicing pulling up my front tire. So I decided to pop my front wheel up over a little drain thing because it was inclined downward, well I got my front tire off the ground but when I landed one of the petals shot of my foot and hit me in the shin and it gashed open three sections on my shin. I shot off my bike and started freaking out.
My dad rushed over to me and helped me inside. What freaked me out the most was what it looked like. What was weird is that the cuts were perfectly straight, they weren't jagged or anything. We put some water on them which felt really odd and then we put butterfly stitches on them to hold them together. After that we debated on whether or not to take me to the E.R. Now you probably think should go because of the way I explained the cuts, but we weren't totally sure I needed stitches. In the end we decided to take me to the E.R. When we got there we told them what happened and they took us to a room. I watched a show while I waited for the doctor to come in. When he got in he took off the butterfly stitches and cleaned up the cuts with some iodine. Then they gave me some shots to numb the cuts. After we waited for the shot stuff sink in he started with the stitches. They did hurt but not terribly, it did make my eyes water though. After he finished with the stitches they wrapped it up. Then I road home and went to bed. The End.

My favorite school memory was when I got to go to Camp McDowell in fifth grade. All of the fifth grade went. I sat next to one of my best friends Watson. It wasn't a super long ride. When we got there we had to carry all of our stuff down a big hill to our cabins. I three kids from my class in the cabin the rest of the kids were in a different class. Watson and J.D were in my cabin. J.D is another one of my friends from my class, Durand was the other kid there from my class, and he is nice too. We would go on walks and explore things. At on point we got to go canoeing, we even got to see some counselor doing tricks with birds of prey. At like four o'clock we get to play sports or rest, so I usually went to play soccer with a lot of other kids. One night we went to a spot and played campfire games. The cabin beds were super soft. On the day that we had to leave there was a counselor dressed up as bigfoot. I had a really good time at Camp McDowell. That is my favorite school memory.

Well the other day I was doing edgenuity. There was a quiz that I was about to do on it. I started doing it and I sort of thought I knew what to do, well I guess I didn't because I got a fifty percent. On the next try I got a forty percent. I was disappointed, and I felt like an idiot. But then me and my dad figured it out.

I had success when I finally finished the Harry Potter series. I read the first three books pretty well, then on the fourth I didn't really want to read. Well I didn't really want to read anything at all. I don't know why I didn't want to read anymore, I guess it just got boring. I did manage to finish it though. I had to make myself read. After the fourth one it was just smooth sailing, I read the fifth one in a month because it's so long, and then the sixth and the seventh took probably close to a month. That is the story of the long haul to get the Harry Potter series, it only took me like four years to do it. But when I finally finished it felt wonderful.

Over the summer I went to my grandparents house in Michigan. While we were there we decided to go on a mountain bike ride. We love mountain biking. It was a really cool mountain biking place. The trail we went on was awesome, we road through mud puddles. I was having a lot of fun for the time being. When we got to the end of the trail we turned around and road it back. I was behind my three brothers and riding with my mom and my dad, but on the last stretch I went in front of them by enough that I couldn't see them. I finally came to a dirt road and on the other side the trail kept going. So I went across the road thinking the ride wasn't over yet. Forgetting that I was supposed to turn left down the road to the parking lot. When I realized they weren't behind me I was confused. I turned around road back across the road to the other trail. I got off my bike and started walking back on the trail to see if my parents were there but there was no one. When it sunk in that I was alone I started to panic. I was scared, so I started to yell there names. Over and over again I yelled "Mom," "Mom." Then I heard My mom and my brother calling my name. I was so relieved. Then I saw my dad's familiar white truck. When I got in I was still kinda shaky but I was okay. The End.

Last year on Memorial day weekend mom my dad and my three brothers, Oliver, Elliott, and Liam, went to Bryson City, North Carolina. It's in the mountains. We rented this cabin that had a great view and a hot tub. We did all sorts of stuff. We went on an amazing mountain bike ride that also had a great view once you got to the top of this mountain thing. We visited the town in the morning and went to an amazing breakfast place. There was also this old hardware store that had to have been there for fifty years. There was an old sweet guy running it. The coolest thing about the hardware store was that there was a paintball range in the back parking lot. We decided to do it so we bought some paint balls and went out back to shoot at these little metal ducks. I hit them all down eventually, it wasn't to hard. My two oldest brothers did really well though. There was a really cool outdoors store that we went to, where I got some sunglasses and a hammock. We also went to this amazing lunch place that was like old school where I got a double cheese burger that was great, I didn't eat the whole thing though cause it was huge. We also went to the Great Smoky Mountains cause that's there National Park. We did a hike there and then us boys did tubing down a river. I fell in the water as soon as I tried to get in my tube. It was cool until my brother took my tube and I had to try to walk the rest of the way. I was bumping my shins like crazy. The best thing though was white water rafting, no doubt about it. We didn't go on the Nanahala because some of the dirt and rocks on the banks had fallen into the water, plus I think I was to young for it. (If you don't know the Nanahala is a white water rafting river that is supposedly awesome.) It was still awesome though. There were some pretty fast parts. Our guide was awesome. He kept on telling us the corniest jokes ever. At one point he threw us in the water, it was hilarious. The entire ride down the river took like two hours. I was like falling asleep on the ride back. That's pretty much what we did. That was one of my favorite trips ever.

One time me and my friend went to a Braves v.s Phillies. We were going for the Phillies of course. My mom dropped me off at his house. We were staying over night at a hotel. On the drive there we played on his nintendo switch, and read our books for a little bit. We were sitting to the left I think of the plate. We were pretty close up to. We had brought our baseball gloves in case a fly ball came our way. We had pizza and dip in dots. I got one or two balls that the team throw at us when they caught them. I even got my glove signed by Cliff Lee. (If you don't know Chase Utley was a Phillies pitcher, I think he is a pitching coach now though.) Sadly the Phillies lost nine to two, but when Bryce Harper stepped up to the plate the Braves fans starting booing him, but then he hit a home run. We tried wearing rally caps but it didn't work. When the game was over we went back to our hotel. Me and my friend had to sleep on this pullout bed that was not very comfortable. In the morning we went to this breakfast place that was really good. After that we hit the road. They took us back to there house then my mom picked me up there. It was an awesome experience.

My worst school memory was in fifth grade. I was in my math classroom and I wasn't feeling to good. I asked my teacher if I could go to the nurse, so I went there, but she said I didn't have a fever, so I went back to my classroom. I still didn't feel good so my teacher got her mini fan and put it by me, it felt pretty good. And then I felt really sick, I quickly asked my teacher if I could go to the nurse she said yes so I did, but halfway up the hallway I threw up in the hallway before I could get there. I told the nearest grown up and they took me to the nurse. I sat there until she said I could go wait on the bench. Two of my friends brought up my backpack. They were nice and comforting. Then my mom came and picked me up. What was terrible was that I didn't get to go to market day. The end.

I didn't like to read in third grade. I think I started to like it because it was a way to escape reality. Reading is like an entire different world.
