The main problem in our design challenge is that hotel owners and their hotels are not prepared for natural disasters like earthquakes. People aren't going to hotels for their own safety.

The main problem in our design challenge is that hotels and resorts are not preparing for the disaster that comes up. Also companies are not in profit because of this reason. This is the main reason in the design challenge. H.w Something I learned today is that the rock under the tectonic plates move together and that rock causes to form an earthquake.That is how earthquakes happen.

The main problem is that the hotels that people make get messed up by a earthquake and the people that make the hotel don't know how to know when the earthquake is coming and don't know how to make a hotel that is earthquake resaistent.A thing we can do to fix the problem is that we can research more about when the earthquake will come and find an area where can build a building that will not get destroyed by an earthquake. The majority of the U.S. is not prepared for a natural disaster. When people go to hotels and resorts and there is a natural disaster the sales of the of the companies goes down. Engineers are trying to find a solution to this scenario by improving the hotels. I learned that will help me later when I need the problem. I also learned that the edge of the tectonic plates is where earthquakes strike the hardest. Like California and Hawaii.

When the company experience a natural disaster at the hotel site, sales will go down sharply. So engineers (we) are going to build a resort which can withstand natural disasters. HW: I learned that will help me later is that frequent and strong earthquakes hit California and Hawaii.

The problem is that natural disasters are a big threat to the united states. After a natural disaster, it takes a lot of money to repair everything. Hotels and resorts are most likely to loose profit. And lots of people need to evacuate when there is a natural disaster. Many hotels and resorts aren't prepared for natural disasters. Our task is to create a way to help the people evacuate.

One thing that i learned is that earthquakes are pressure released from the ground.

Also many people want to build resorts in places that lot of people come to like California and Hawaii but they don't research so they aren't prepared for a natural disaster. The problem is that there were many natural disasters and more than 60% of the U.S population are not ready for them.Hotels and Resorts were not ready for very big disasters either. In U.S there were many tornadoes,earthquakes,etc,but not a lot of U.S was ready. Company's,resorts,and hotels would loose lots of money and property damage from a lot of these disasters.

One thing I learned is that earthquakes can also create tsunamis. So,there will be more damage and we have to be extra careful when we build our structure. If there is a body of water near by it can start sudden movement in the ocean floor and a tsunami can happen.

One thing I learned is that tectonic plates move for many reasons. For example, when volcanoes erupt, the ground shakes a lot. The ground shakes because the pressure from the core of the earth,(magma/lava) pushes it's way up to the top. The constant shaking makes buildings fall, forms tsunamis or massive waves, and it causes many fatal deaths.
