It is important to remember that these tools can be used for more than chapter reviews. Use them in the beginning of the class or in the middle of the lesson to keep energy up and to give you more timely data so you can intervene right away.

I found that by searching for Kahoots that have already been created, you can get many good ideas. I always like to create my own because then they are customized to what I have taught my students. Sometimes you don't know what is possible until someone shows you though.

Kids always enjoy something out of the ordinary. I like to throw different types of review at them. Most find it useful and fun. Most want the link to practice on their own. I will continue using them and experiment with those I haven't used.

I enjoyed creating quizzes in both Kahoot and Quizizz. It was interesting to see how they are similar to each yet have some unique differences. I like that Quizizz seems more beneficial for teacher instruction, yet Kahoot seems more user friendly for students. I appreciate that these resources are useful not only for unit reviews, but for anticipatory sets, a mid lesson check, and also as an exit ticket.

I like to use these activities as practice each week. The students love switching up from the typical lecture followed by "on your own practice". Utilizing the technology on a weekly basis also helps the students know my protocols for participation.

I like using a majority of the tools that were shared throughout this course but I want to get students involved in making the product. Some of the tools allow students to create sets or questions that can then be submitted and shared to the rest of the class. It not only takes a higher level of understanding for them to create the sets in kahoot but it creates a lot of material for students to use for review or practice.

I am really excited to create quizzes to not only let me know where they are at but also creating a fun way for them to show me.

I have never used these in my classroom before. I have always been nervous because I teach kindergarten but I think these could be very motivating for my students. It would be slow at first but I know once they got the hang of it, it would be something easy to integrate into our routine.

I love Kahoot. I enjoy being able to use quizzes I make, and see what other have made as well. I really like the competitiveness that is created by the game. Its a good tool to use for engagement as well as instruction.

I have used Kahoot as a prior knowledge activity when we start our units. It gives me the opportunity to see what they know and where I need to spend my time. I like padlet for group work. I have paired groups together and then had them share their findings with other groups through padlet. It allowed students to collaborate on two different levels. Quizlet is a great review activity for more students outside of the classroom. I have not used the Quizziz but would like to try that.

I love how engaging and fun these are with immediate feedback! Kahoot could be done in groups where students can learn from others, as well, rather than an assessment. I wonder about plickers in Kinder, anybody used it at such an early grade?

I have used all of these tools in class with 6th graders, with the exception of Quizzizz. Students love using Kahoot! to review for unit tests and to be reminded of how much they have learned. They enjoy the friendly competition between classmates and love being the hour that has the most questions answered correctly by all members of the class.

I am a big fan of using Kahoot, but it's nice to see alternative ideas to be used to accomplish the same thing. I feel that kahoot is so overused that many students don't get excited anymore to review with it. I plan on implementing Quizizz more instead of kahoots to give students some variety.

Having these free tools to use is another way I can better engage my students and help them practice in a more exciting way. There are lots of really cool ways for kids to review material in a digital format, both at home and at school, in both competitive and non-competitive settings. These tools provide a great change of pace in classroom that can be all too serious at times.

Many new and fun ways to mix up the reviewing of information with my students. Also, some new ideas to use some of these digital tools as a pretest, guess I never thought of that. I like that these are ways that students can also continue to review at home in prepping for summative assessments. I have used kahoot and quizlet live the most, but would like to try quizziz next, I like the fact that it provides more individual options for the students.

I like that quizlet has a speaking feature that can say words to the students. I'd like Kahoot better if there was a way students could listen to the question and answer choices. I think the timed version will stress some of my struggling readers and will try using these activities in small groups first.

I think using low stakes games to allow students to compete against themselves and their classmates is a way to capitalize on the amount students enjoy video games and use that enjoyment to help them reach learning goals. Buncee has also changed some my lessons around. I have used it to explain assignments to my higher kids who are working independently while I am teaching the rest of the class. I think they will enjoy using Buncee to do their own creations this spring.

I want to broaden my horizons on digital formative tools I use. I feel that we are starting to over-use Kahoot and Quizlet Live. I don’t want them to lose their appeal because we use them too much.

Quizzizz is the tool I plan to focus on next because the students aren’t overfamiliar with it. I also appreciate that students can work at their own pace in this program. While there is a bit of a race to it, students don’t have to finish first to get the info and the “game” doesn’t shut down when the first person finishes.

I’m also excited to try padlet for lesson summaries. My students write summaries every day, but Padlet would give me easy access to help them share their thinking. That makes everyone’s summary writing better

I found Quizlet to be a time saver for my own daughter as she studied for her own tests, particularly tests with many technical terms.

If used only periodically, students always love kahoot. From my end, I keep an item analysis to discover what students need more work on. This is why I like to use it as I would a pretest or as a check-up throughout a unit.

I really love using the activities tab in SeeSaw! The students are able to go into the activities tab and make a copy of the assignment. Don't use something to just use something- I think they tools you use should teach skills and be meaningful and engaging to the lesson. There are some really cools things out there but there's also a lot of time wasting junk.

I really think it is important that students are using a lot of different application/digital tools so they don't get burnt out on one or another. I have noticed in years past everyone in the building will get behind one app and students are not engaging with it the same way when used over and over again.

It continues to amaze me how many options there are. I have to remind myself to focus on a few and get good at them before introducing new options. Students really enjoy these types of activities and are much more engaged. Not only are these activities fun but they can offer you very useful data if done right.

There are so many tools out there now for us to utilize it is amazing. I really thing students' level of engagement go way up when a teacher useds digital assessment.

Rebecca Beyer- I have learned about many more digital tools that I will be using in my class this year. I think it is fun to switch up how we assess students to make it more engaging. I am very familiar with Kahoot and Quizlet but I would like to try to do a lot more on Formative and Flipgrid.

I am excited to try out Quizizz this year with my students as a formative assessment. I think they really enjoy the change of pace and the memes- I think they will get a kick out of those! I also want to try using Plickers for my students to answer essential questions after our reading units and even as an informative assessment in place of a paper exit ticket. All of these digital tools make me excited to teach because I know that my students will enjoy the change of pace and having more options to show what they know. These ideas will help students become more engaged and participate more in class.

These tools/resources that are available make classrooms fun and engaging. Students enjoy being introduced to new resources/games. In addition, it is great to have instant feedback on how students are doing.

Enjoy using Kahoot to review a lesson or unit. Sometimes however if I use it too often kids loose interest. Quizlet gets the kids up and energy flowing.

I like the idea of digital assessments or interactive practice. As a traveling teacher, is easier for me to travel with a laptop instead of bags and bags of materials. Another person's comment mentioned using a Kahoot as a pre-assessment--brilliant!

I am not the greatest at technology but I am always striving to learn more ideas and techniques to keep up with the times and keep my students engaged and learning. I am all for using technology to strengthen skills and for review and practice. There are so many apps and websites to use it is overwhelming. So like others, I try to learn a few at a time and use them until learning others. My greatest challenge is finding the time to create the material to use the technology. However, many of the ones shown through this course are quick to create and use. This is just what I need!

It's always fun to introduce a new digital activity to students because it is a break from the norm. I would agree that using the same activity or tool repeatedly will become monotonous for students, which is all the more reason to build your repertoire and become skilled in switching it up regularly to keep students engaged. It's always fun to see students excited about what they are doing while actually learning new things!

I love that the quiz websites give immediate feedback for my students. I know my competitive students will be very interested and enjoy this way to review or assess. I think some of my lower students would benefit from working together in mixed ability groups. This could be a huge motivator for my kids!!

This course just makes me continue to think that I need to slow down to implement these ideas. Too often I go too quickly and think about getting to the next unit. I think if I implement more of these types of activities, my students understanding will improve and they will be connected to the information.

I remember when Kahoot came out and the kids loved it... until they were doing Kahoots in every class... this course gave some options to give more variety in offering quizzes, discussion posts, etc...

I love that the students have the ability to share their thoughts and ideas digitally. Some students feel more comfortable sharing this way instead of out loud in front of the whole class. This also makes it more fun!

I find each of these helpful. I need to commit to building a few of these in each unit and I fully suspect that test scores will go up!

I like using digital formative assessments in class because students get more engaged when they are working together, or sometimes when competing against each other. It also is more fun for them than a written homework assignment.

Quizlet live is great for introducing vocabulary as well as for reviewing it. It is fun to have students also try the individual games Quizlet has as well for when they go home to study.

Kahoot was a great tool for students during DL. In Phy. Ed, there are not many opportunities to do these types of things in class because we prioritize physical activity, so it was great to have students use a tool like this when they were Hybrid/DL. Plickers is a great way to check for student understanding quickly at the end of class.

Quizizz is a great way to see how individual students are learning the concepts. I love the option to assign the quiz or have it live in my classroom. Having the report come to me a life saver.

I enjoy exploring and using digital resources in a variety of ways. I prefer Kahoot! in large group in person sessions for the social aspect and may lean towards Quizizz for individual review. FlipGrid is useful for demonstrating understanding or creating "How To..." videos for younger students as a means of connecting with various grade levels.

I like Kahoot and quizlet live they really work well for my classes and I like that kids can access them in schoology at anytime for their own review.

I love what others have said about using these tools as way to give the shy or introverted students a way to respond and be involved in a non-threatening way. These digital tools can also increase engagement, add a little fun, help differentiate, and provide new ways to assess student growth.

I especially liked the link at the end to the 75 digital tools. There are so many things out there nowadays and it was nice to see a comprehensive list with descriptions of each tool. Getting students more engaged digitally is the way of the future and it is what they really enjoy.

I really like idea of using kahoot to review concepts before students begin their art projects! It also lets me know what they have retained without a quiz. Plus it can be fun for the kids!

Students are always excited to use games to learn. It breaks up the regular class routine. I have used Kahoot and can see progress as we practice vocabulary. The students are engaged and like the cues to help with remembering the terms. This is great for independent practice as well. It's fine to use the ghost setting to really challenge students to compete against their previous score.

One complaint I have had with Kahoot in the past is that students get so obsessed with their score and the competition aspect, they don't really think or reflect on what they are answering. Slower students also lose interest or feel dejected. I like the idea of using teams and will incorporate it that way.

A lot of formative assessment happens with the actual materials in class but I need to remember to break it down to even just important vocabulary for students to fully grasp the entire concept that I am teaching them.

The competitive fever that develops from the scoring and place finishing aspect of Kahoot is a detractor and a bypass or workaround would be helpful to keep the learning polite and on-task.
