Someone I consider a hero

Someone that I consider a hero is my mommy. She is a hero because what she does everyday, and still keeps a positive attitude. Not only does my mom have to deal with me, but she is also a hospice nurse. She travels from house to house across Illinois taking care of dying patients. They can be older people, or even people her age. All her patients love her and she is the best at what she does. There are a lot of hospice nurses, but no one is like my mom. My mom is who everyone calls when they don't know what to do or need help. After that long day, she still comes home with a positive attitude for me since my dad works out of state she is the one that takes care of me. Everyone should know about her because she is an amazing person and a hard worker. But like I said, no one can compare.

I'll know when I made it when I'm done playing football, and have enough to support me and my family for life. I really don't care if you think it's realistic or not but my goal is to make the NFL and I know I can and I'll send you tickets to a game. I want to have fun playing the game at the highest level with my family by my side. College is first and I know I need to get my degree and work hard and have a great college football career. I can't make stupid decisions like doing drugs. I need to stay focused on my goal in order to reach it.

The most important thing in my life is my family. My family consist of my mom, dad, and sister Cayla, and I would literally do anything for them. They have supported me throughout my athletic and academic career and have been there ever since I started. I wouldn't have all the football success that I have had without them.

I try to have my friends have the same goals I have. Most my friends I have met through sports. We are all competitors, hard workers, and funny people. We love to joke around with one another but when we have a goal in mind nothing can stop us. A lot of my friends I have played football with. In football, its one team versus another, so we bond closer together as brother to beat the other team. This brings us closer as friends as well. When we aren't playing football, we are having fun and goofing around. We love to razz on each other but we know it's all love. Football has brought me some of my best friends today.

One famous person that I admire is Lebron James. Lebron grew up in a town where nothing was going on, no father, and with little talent. He worked hard and persevered through all his obstacles and ended up being the first player drafted in the draft coming out of high school. Another famous person that I admire is Tom Brady. Tom Brady was a backup quarterback and when he got his shot he made the most of it. Now he is considered when of the best quarterback to ever play the game. Tom is one of the oldest quarterbacks in the game right now and he is still the best. I love how he takes care of his body to keep him in the best shape to perform at a high level. The last famous person I admire is Steph Curry. Steph is one of the best basketball players in the game today. Steph's dad also played and was successful in the NBA. Everyone always compared him to his dad until he became better than his dad was. People compare me to my dad because my dad also played quarterback in the NFL so I want to get to the point where I am better than him too.

The main thing my family wants for me is to get a college degree and have fun. My parents stress to me all the time how important having the college degree is. My dad left college early to play football and he tells me about how much he regrets that because having a college degree can get me so much more opportunities in the world. They also stress to have fun and enjoy my life while I'm young. They don't want me to have unneeded pressure and stress they want me to enjoy the moment. My parents just want me to grow up and be happy no matter what I am doing. That's all I really want as well is to enjoy whatever I am doing.

Some social events that have impacted my life was all the school dances. I remember freshman year when all the girls would stand together and all the guys would stand together because we were all too nervous to start dancing with our dates. By this year, I was one of the guys in the middle circle with all the girls and my shirt off hahaha. The dances helped me figure out how to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. It also helped me feel comfortable in my own skin and have confidence in myself which you need in life if you want to be successful. Also prom is the last dance where we didn't even worry about the dance because we all knew it was our last dance together as a senior class and we just all wanted to be with each other and have fun.

Why I think school is important

Yes school is important because it gives you the knowledge to be able to succeed in high school, but I believe school is also important because of what comes along with it. In high school I learned how to work hard and become a team player. Football in high school made me stronger both mentally and physically. It also gained me some of my best friends today. It's taught me how to react to situations and keep my cool and how to have fun. The social life I have is because i'm with my friends at school everyday. This made us closer so we hang out outside of school as well. The knowledge I learned is not as much about the actual content, but more about being in a structured environment and getting the job done. Homework helped me stay disciplined and know I have to get my work done. My personality changed and stayed the same. I'm still the goofy kid I always was but I'm more focused because I know what I want to do because of high school. I had a lot of success whether it was academically or athletically, but I have also had a lot of failures that made me stronger and made me persevere.

How media/technology impacts my life

Media and technology has impacted my life in multiple positive ways. Whether it's Instagram, twitter, snap chat or Facebook, social media has helped me better connect with my friends and family. It's an easier way to communicate and have fun with friends out of school, and it helps me connect more with my family that is out of state. Also, especially twitter, it was helped me with my football recruiting. The main way of contact with college coaches is through twitter. They can see the workouts I do and the stats I have, and they can DM me. Without social media it would be harder for me to get in touch with coaches so they can recruit me.

Finding my main focus

Finding my main focus is how I have been so successful up to this point. This year I was named First Team All-State for quarterback in Illinois, I was the Conference MVP, voted one of the best high school athletes in Illinois, named Chicago Bears player of the week, was the captain of my football team and led us to a conference championship. If you would of asked someone at this time last year, very few people would say I am capable of this. My dad and I would probably be the only people that would say yes. I was only able to do this because 24/7 all I wouldn't think about is improving my football game. I worked out 3 times, watch film, stretched, and worked on quarterback techniques every day. A lot of people have a goal but they don't literally give it everything they have to accomplish it. I knew what I had to do and I did it. Finding my main focus is what keeps me going and working hard everyday.

Family makeup influence

My family makeup made me grow up faster than most kids. Every since I was 11 my dad has been coaching football out of state. I had to be the man of the house for a while now. I've been seeing my dad for maybe 3 months out of each year since then. Don't get me wrong, my dad is awesome. He played football in the NFL which inspires me and he is always there for me when I need me. He is probably my favorite person in the life. Him being gone has motivated me to work harder and mature when I have to in order to keep the family going when my mom's having a bad day. My sister now lives in Texas because she is married to a marine. My sister and I used to not get along mostly because I took some attention from her when I was born and she was jealous and I was an annoying little kid. But since my dad started working out of state we became way closer and are great friends.
