on a 4 point scale a lot of these “1s” seem a lot like 0s, I.e. the student didn’t do anything or it is so far off base it barely counts as anything. Accordingly a lot of the 2s seem like 1s, especially for the HS level

It gives us an opportunity to have more consistency between classes as Science has wildly different rubrics than English. It has potential for students to get familiar with a grading standard with all classes.

It seems very helpful when trying to categorize the student’s writing strengths and weaknesses. It is also written in a way that is easy to understand so hopefully if a student were to use it they may not have much trouble should they partake in a peer reading activity.
