Employees might prefer continuous feedback over a performance review because they can make adjustments right away. Performance reviews are typically annually or bi-annually, so continuous feedback allows the employee to get feedback right away instead of waiting months. Performance reviews may also be anxiety-inducing for some employees, whereas continuous feedback can feel informal and less judgemental.

Interviewing is an important skill for HR managers, as knowing how to properly interview a candidate by using strategic questioning provides a better sense of how candidates will actually perform on the job. Every interview must include clear, measurable criteria for evaluating applicants qualifications while also measuring for additional factors like company culture, team cohesion, and aligned company values. Additionally, phrasing of questions are important to ensure legality and equal opportunity for the candidates being interviewed.

Mental health and physical health is something that is very important and near and dear to me. Whether it is a in a work setting or not mental health is a very serious matter. One factor that can lead to mental health issues is distress. When there is too much distress amongst employees it can lead to a lack of productivity, along with a range of physical health issues driving insurance costs such as headaches and stomach problems which in term can increase health insurance costs drastically. Companies have begun to take steps on identifying potential stressors in the workplace along with encouraging vacation time off from work

Compensation, is extremely important when it comes to the benefits you get where you work. I’m not talking about extra pay, but specifically health benefits. Without your health, nothing else matters. You can have all the money and the “best” job in the world. However, if you aren’t covered with health or have poor health overall it’s all meaningless. The importance of having health benefits and health insurance as a compensation, is attractive to more top central candidates, boosts morale and overall motivates employees in the workplace. Although health insurance is the key one, there are many other benefits like 401k and vacation time that also go along with compensation and employee benefits that are attractive to current and potential new employees and talent.
