This website gives a good background on what Henry Ford, and his company did for the country. It was one of the first ever car companies in the U.S. Henry Ford started the system of mass production by coming up with the assembly line, which is a factory system that we still use today. The Ford company was a respectable company. Workers were treated well, and they got payed in high wages.

It has a list of the decades of the 19th century, and you can choose a decade, and it will list each year in that decade. This site shows what the Ford motor company's current dream is. They have built Eco-boost engines that will help clean up the world.

New Eco-boost engine

Once his company expanded, he was a big figure in the U.S. This website shows the struggles that he went through to make the company that Ford is today. struggles were no problem for this man. He had faced major debt, and turned around and made a smart investment into a railroad and gained 3 million.

"We are entering an era when we shall create resources which shall be so constantly renewed that the only loss will be not to use them. There will be such a plenteous supply of heat, light and power, that it will be a sin not to use all we want. This era is coming now. And it is coming by way of Water." (Ford News, p.2,) 2/1/1922

He was so confident in his company, that he was convincing people that it will be a way of life to take advantage of all the resources to come. This idea comes from mass production, and the assembly line. There was so much being produced because he was trying to change the world.

This quote is interesting to me because it's talking about the start of aviation. Powerful people are needed for aviation to spread and grow. Henry Ford had the best motors at the time, so he knew he would be needed. The cool thing about his business too was that he was already building engines, so he had the resources that aviators need.

Cars weren't wide spread before because they took longer to make which raised the price of the car.

The Ford Motor Company was the reason why cars are so wide spread. If it weren't for their cheap affordable cars at this time, cars wouldn't have advanced and been as popular as they are today. The cheap affordable car made every day lives a lot easier. People could be transported faster, and transport things a lot easier. This availability freed up time for people allowing for better lives with more entertainment which ties into what the 1920's are about. We still see this today. We use cars for everything, and they are probably used more than they ever were. cars also increased oil companies production, and their profit because of the higher demand for it which opened up new jobs for people in need. Cars allow us to live the life we do today.
