Getting that $50, I was absolutely over-joyed. I immediately put it into my 'treasure box' which was used to contain all of my precious stuffs. At that age, with a curious and adventurous mind, I was really grateful to get a different currency from the VND that I use everyday; and this also made me aware of how different types of money are used by individuals around the world.

 For me, I haven't really thought about other currencies, financial problems, its intricacy and how money work; since I'm a secondary-schooler, and money is an issue which is out of my reach. Obviously, I don't have enough knowledge to think and to speak about this problem. But yes, I still feel something about it, though, and it's a feeling of love, gratitude, and hope. I'm appreciative that my grandmother gave me that $50 and thought I could succeed. I experience love because I enjoy learning about different nations, their currencies, and their hidden histories. Looking at it gives me hope because something inside of me tells me to be brave, work hard, and conquer obstacles in order to achieve "success" and become "successful."

Although receiving money as a gift can be pleasant, the memories and experiences are what will forever be genuinely priceless. This $50 isn't just a piece of cash, it's a thing which inspires me, encourages me to go through hardness. It's just like a reminder, telling me to remember my grandmother's efforts, and to focus on developing myself. This piece of cash has also helped me realize how important it is to spend time with loved ones and make memories, rather than simply acquiring things.

One day, my dad came to me with an idea. He said, "If you get a good score on your final Math exam, I'll give you some money. You can use it to buy that games console you've been wanting." This made me really excited. I really wanted that console!

So, I decided to work hard on my Math. I spent more time studying and practicing. I asked my teacher for extra help after school. I even did extra Math problems at home. It wasn't easy, but I kept trying.

When the day of the exam came, I was nervous but ready. I took my time and did my best. A week later, we got our results. I couldn't believe it - I got an A! I was so happy and proud of myself.

My dad was really pleased too. He kept his promise and gave me the money. I was able to buy the games console I wanted so much. But you know what? I realized something even more important.

I learned that if I really try hard and put my heart into something, I can do well. This made me feel more confident. I started to believe in myself more. And you know what else? I actually started to like Math! It wasn't so scary anymore.

After that, I did better in all my subjects. I knew that if I worked hard, I could improve. This experience taught me a lot about not giving up and believing in myself.

So, that's the story of when I got money as a gift. It wasn't just about the money or the games console. It was about learning that I could do anything if I really tried. And that's a lesson I've never forgotten.
