I felt that this is not what true beauty is suppose to be about. Afterwards I felt that there is no wonder many woman feel unattractive and not beautiful enough for today's society due to our models pictures we look up to aren't even a real human due to how badly their pictures are edited and Photoshop.

Modern beauty and fashion set unfair standards all the time. they end up taking beautiful woman covering them up with make up and doing their hair. Then I found out not only do the edit the pictures but they Photoshop them to the point where it no longer looks like a real person.  They change the hair, eyes, nose cheeks and the after all picture looks nothing like the original model they started off with.

Men are affected by this but not as bad as women and here's why, Men are affected because this is not what real everyday woman look like and that gives them a false image of when woman are suppose to look like according to social media. As for Woman this leads to woman second guessing their appearance and increasing their self esteem based on their appearance and sometimes can even lead into depression due to how badly you feel that you need to look like the models social media is advertising. 

I feel that our view of beauty became so distorted due to online social media. Over the last 10 years woman and even preteens are more concerned about their appearances and looks due to social media and many people being addicted to some social media programs like Face Book or Instagram ect.  

I personally don't think the media and fashion industry should be allowed to Photoshop their models pictures to the point where it no longer resembles the original model. I think they need to have many different types of models and not all models need to wear a ton of make up either. To be honest, I was not at all surprised by this video.  Magazines have long been portraying unrealistic images of men and women.  It is clear when you look at the majority of ads and images that it is not possible for any one person to be so perfect.

How does modern beauty and fashion set unfair standards?
By using tools like photoshop to give models clearer skin, higher cheekbones, slimmer figures and perfectly shaped features, it makes their portrayal of what is "beautiful" unattainable.

Are men and women equally affected by this issue?
Both men and women are portrayed in the fashion and beauty industry in an unreastic way.  Although I do think that men are affected by this, I feel women are more critical of themselves.

Should the media and the fashion industry be allowed to use photo shop?
I think that instead of saying not to use photo shop, we should educated our young population on things such as natural/inner beauty. We should continue to show videos like the "Dove Campaign" in the schools to show that anything is poosible with the use of modern technology.
