Activity:
Bring the children out of the classroom for a walk. Get them to listen and interact with the environment during the walk. When they return back to the classroom, gather their feed backs on what they have seen, touch and hear. After then, get them to go home and bring something that can represent the feedback that they have given.

Today, they will be baking cookies. Teacher Sarah is going to divide the class into 2 groups to use 2 different recipes to bake the cookie, one has baking soda in it, while the other recipe has does not have baking soda. They are investigating if the removal of the baking soda would have an effect on the cookie. For the first group, they did the recipe with the baking soda in the cookie. The second group did the recipe without the baking soda. After the children finish making the cookie batter and shaped the cookies on the baking tray, teacher Sarah placed the cookies in the oven. After the cookies were baked and cooled, teacher Sarah gathered the children over to a table and asked them to see if there is a difference in the appearance of the cookies made using the 2 recipes. One child said " the cookies with the baking soda is bigger"( bigger refers that the cookies managed to rise.) The children got to try the cookies and they realized that the texture of the 2 different types of cookies were different. The teacher can provide the children with some art materials such as paper, crayons, markers and paint of different colors,  the children can then draw freely on the piece of paper provided to them and explore with the colors given by mixing the colors together without the guidance of the teachers.
