Czar Nicholas II was born on May 18, 1868, and lived until the age of 50, before being assassinated on July 17, 1918. He was the last emperor in Russia, in which he ruled from November 1, 1894, until he was forced to abdicate the throne on march 15, 1917. He was also known as Saint Nicholas the Passion-Bearer in the Russian Orthodox Church. His poor handling the events of Bloody Sunday and Russia's role in World War I led to his abdication. His main involvement in the Russian Revolution is his abdication, stepping down from power, which led to the end of the Romanov rule over Russia, which lasted for over 3 hundred years.
