Who is Irma de Vries?

She is a Dutch artist, born on 1980. She was interested in art from a very young age. Irma attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy to study Video Art. Before becoming famous she overcame many difficulties and health problems, but they didn't stop her career as an artist, and always though "With no destruction there is no creation". She became famous in 2016 when she exhibited her digital immersion art room at the Moco museum in Amsterdam. She also have created another artworks like Mi society is about a modern goddess called Mi, Canalhouse, Gatekeepers or Man and Woman.

Irma is a creator of a huge number of artworks, inspire on Yayoi Kusama. She creates expositions, spaces, of immersive digital art. They are so colorful and bright, she experiments and plays with different colors and add some calm music that accompany the view for a complete experience. She created it, putting a room full of mirrors, until you can't see the walls, and hanging some strips with plastic diamonds that change their colors, creating a visual effect as if the room was infinite.

I liked the museum, because there were many different artworks and I discovered some new artists that I had never heard of, some of them made me feel sad because of their past.

I expected there to be more paintings and the guide would spend all the time talking about each work and be boring, but when I went in and saw the sculptures and the digital immersion rooms I felt very happy, and I especially liked how the guide explained the story of each artist and their works quickly, clearly and in an interesting way, it impressed me.

I loved the Moco museum because the art it's so interesting, the paintings were beautiful and sentimental because the paintings, artworks and sculptures from each artist have a meaning and can be happy, sad, about mental health, love... I would come back a thousand times over if I could! It was a very nice experience and I learned new things!

My favourite artwork is Studio Irma because it impressed me, since I had only seen photos and I really wanted to see it. I found it very curious and interesting because I thought, "how did he come up with such a wonderful idea?" Also because it was beautiful, and I was amazed when I saw it, and also I was able to take many beautiful photos and a very special one with my group of friends together and with our teacher Mariona, living this experience with her made it more beautiful.

This painting makes part of the collection "Confessions of crowded mind" by Robbie Williams, exhibited for the first time in 2023, that express mental health, because he had, but he embraces his paintings an unfiltered stream of these instead of falling.

To create his artworks, first he makes a sketch on his iPad or digitally and when he likes the result he starts to paint with acrylics, his painting normally are big.

When I saw this painting, I immediately loved it, and I didn't need to think two times to take a photo, specially because he chose very bright colours, and they combined between them and I love the message, it's so emotional, in my opinion he has reason.

Periodically, the artworks rotate through the three Moco museums located between London, Amsterdam and Barcelona.
