         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, also known as the CDPA, is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that received Royal Assent on 15 November 1988.  <br>It reformulates almost completely the statutory basis of copyright law (including performing rights) in the UK, which had, until then, been governed by the Copyright Act 1956. It also creates an unregistered design right and contains a number of modifications to the law of the United Kingdom on Registered designs and patents</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Subject to the provisions of this Act, copyright shall subsist throughout the parts of His Majesty's dominions to which this Act extends for the term hereinafter mentioned in every original literary dramatic musical and artistic work, if;<br>- in the case of a published work, the work was first published within such parts of His Majesty's dominions as aforesaid ; and </div><div>- in the case of an unpublished work, the author was at the date of the making of the work a British subject or resident within such parts of His Majesty's dominions as aforesaid ; </div><div>but in no other works, except so far as the protection conferred by this Act is extended by Orders in Council thereunder relating to self-governing dominions to which this Act does not extend and to foreign countries. </div>]]></description>
