The person speaking is Annie Foyster a university student who wanted to try studying abroad by doing a gap year. She aimed at staying in a hot beautiful country but indeed it was far from what she pictured. She went to Spain for 9 months.First of all she decided to go abroad for a gap year in Spain. She expected an amazing time and a hot and beautiful country.Unfortunately the fact that she had to bear loneliness and a lot of working hours for a minimal salary made get experience horrible for her taste.Though she eventually realized her experience was actually a great one because she learned how to get through tough times. She barely spoke Spanish and only had one friend still she wouldn't change this because she learned serious life lessons: she grew up and learned relying on herself and that things don't always come the way she expects or wants. This bad looking experience turned into a positive one.She found out she was stronger than she thought she was. These are a few things she should or could've done to make her gap year more enjoyable starting from day 1:-she should've asked for help-she should've learned how to speak Spanish fluently before coming -she could've brought a friend of hers along -she could've get herself more involved-she should've been more sociable for she was alone most of the time-she shouldn't have come without any additional information
