Relatively equal districts based on census.&nbsp;<br>50 senators 50 senatorial districts<br>-Qualifications<br>To be eligible in the senate you have to be 25&nbsp;<br>You have to be at least 21 years old to live in district for a year before election<br>-General Assembly Leadership<br>Speaker presides over the house and makes key appointments<br>Lieutinant governor is the president of the senate, but his official votes breaks the tie.<br>President pro tempore presides over house.<br>-Legislative Sessions<br>Short sessions in even number years. 6 week sessions.<br>Long sessions in odd number years. 6 month sessions.&nbsp;<br>Special sessions- Governor, speaker of house, president of senate. Governor usually calls sessions.&nbsp;<br>-Key legislation<br>2005 North Carolina State lottery system was made (NC state education lottery)<br>2006 first minimum wage hike<br>House bill 2-HB2 The Public Facilities Privacy &amp; Security Act<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
