The CIVICUS pillar of Community Service Learning means to me, someone who dedicates their time to helping others. In turn, this person also learns from those they help. For example, I volunteered at Habitat for Humanity many times in high school. As I helped build houses, I learned of who I was helping, and how marginalized groups have a harder time affording houses. In turn from this experience, I learned about how I can help those in need through advocating, along with fulfillment from this community service. This sculpture demonstrates this pillar, as the taller person can be seen shaking the hand of someone smaller. They are connecting and acknowledging each other's humanity and learning about each other's difficulties. It is a flyer with an older, experienced man teaching a young person how to do a task. This flyer is encouraging the readers to teach others with compassion. 

Leadership to me is the ability to "lead" others to a better future. As a leader, you are given power, and you must use this responsibility to make the world better for others. For example, when I was a leader in my student government, I created a forum where students could talk directly to members on the board of education about their concerns. I was given power as the President, but I also used this responsibility to make our community better for our students. This flyer has a similar theme, where the older person is leading the younger person to success. The older one has experience and skill, similar to the "power" in leadership, and is teaching the younger person how to do the job correctly. The CIVICUS pillar of Community Building in a Diverse Society means to me, a variety of people in an accepting environment, learning and partaking in experiences together. For example, the t-shirt tie dying CIVICUS event. CIVICUS is a diverse group of people from all over the country with different cultures, religions and economic groups. We all spent time together at this event, building a community through conversations and experiences. This photograph demonstrates this definition as well, for a diverse group of genders and cultures, are all partaking in the same painting class. The CIVICUS pillar of Scholarship means dedication to learning and using knowledge to support others. For example, I was placed in higher math classes in high school. I worked very hard to achieve a high grade. While I was a scholar, I didn't demonstrate scholarship until I joined the National Honors Society. I spent my time after school tutoring my peers in math and finding educational ways that we could all improve together. This photograph demonstrates scholarship, for all of the students are working on Hebrew. Jacmel, 1923–1965. It is a man in a hospital bed surrounded by people, doctors and angels; all of which care for his wellbeing, as seen as facial expressions of sadness and worry. 
The CIVICUS pillar of citizenship, to me, means belonging. Having a place of acceptance can grow fulfillment within its members. This passion attracts others to stand in pride, whether it be alongside a religious group, college, or country. For example, I feel citizenship to my family. I feel accepted by them and feel like I truly belong, and I stand with great pride knowing that they will always support me. I find my version of "citizenship" in this painting, for this man is surrounded by people, professionals and religious beings that treasure him. He is in a place with caring people, as seen by the worried patrons and hardworking doctors.
