Saighé is a community steward, youth educator, and community activist who has dedicated her life to growing food, nurturing people and land, and building loving community. For over a year, a number of assailants have attempted to abduct her. Recently, they assaulted her. Despite requiring immediate hospitalization, Saighé was then physically abused by police who showed up to the scene, worsening her injuries. She is now facing false and steep charges and costs associated with medical and legal care.

This campaign will help cover urgent legal fees, medical and mental health support, housing and resources our friend needs to continue her life, work, joy and and healing.

Our beloved friend needs safety, protection, and love. She navigates the aftermath by appreciating the beauty of others, deepening her art practices, and loving her own skin.

“Hey, I’m Patrick. I’m a Haitian nonbinary person who uses he/they pronouns. I’m 33 years old, originally a Nyack-native and current resident of Brooklyn. I’ve been living here for 5+ years. I’m a writer, graphic designer, music producer, and educator. What grounds me in this world is a mini altar I put together a year ago that consists of selective childhood memories I’ve had growing up. From dinosaur toys, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, Dragonballs, and video game consoles, books and art posters, these items remind me of the little things (which are in fact big things) that not only give me a sense of relieve through nostalgia, but also a sense of reconciliation with the life of my inner child’s wellbeing.

I am currently a per diem substitute teacher, but have rarely been able to secure work consistently to get by on a daily basis. The job market is terrible and in pursuit of seeking a second job, I’ve had so few interviews with no call backs.

This fundraiser will help not only support our friend and a sibling of our Black Trans family but will also aid in my housing and employment needs in the interim as well.”

Hi, I’m Eli. I recently suffered a serious bike accident, brought on by a neurological episode of currently unknown causes. I injured my leg, arm, and spine and needed surgery. I can’t work for at least six months and need help with ADLs and bills. There is more testing ahead and a long road of rehabilitation I’ll have to go through. Any support means the world. Thank you.
