My Dad was born in 1970 and used technology such as projectors, televisions, and the early version of the computer. His favorite days were when the teacher would roll in the TV since that meant they wouldn't have much to do that day! He struggled with using the computer but he still does to this day. Haha

My Dad said the tools that helped him learn the most while he was in school were calculators and books. He picked calculators as one of his favorite tools because he could use his calculator for math he wanted to figure out without having to put too much thought into it. My Dad, just like his Mom, picked books as a favorite because he could use dictionaries and encyclopedias to find the answers and check for spelling.

My baby cousin Mikayla was born in 2009 and used technology such as computers, smartboards, and online learning platforms! She loves being able to write on smartboards and whiteboards in the classroom. She also has used Google Classroom since she was in 1st grade! She likes using Google Classroom to see other people in her class and being able to talk with her teacher.

Mikayla said the tools that help her learn the most in school are her computer and smartboards. She always uses her computer to do schoolwork since most of her assignments and notes are online. She also uses it to watch videos to help her or when she is playing music for her dance class. She said she likes using smartboards because most of her teachers use them during class to teach lessons and host learning games!

By interviewing different members of my family from all different eras of technology I learned a lot about how many amazing advances we've had over time! Each era had a different technology that was very similar to each other such as the typewriter from the 60s all the way to fully capable computers in the 2010s. Also how my Dad loved projectors in the 70s is similar to Mikayla's love of smartboards currently.
