It has changed how people see each other in society and how people are seen. In the last 20 years there as been a larger opportunity for communication of ideas and different connections across the entire world. With the previous 300 years having less access to a wider range of social media sources in comparison to the last 20 years, it is clear that social media has developed faster and changed humanity more significantly in the past 20 years.

This statement suggests that you have to want to help yourself, because you can't change the way someone is and the way they act. Allah is like your feet, you can't walk without them, but ever with them you still need to learn yourself. o the question is, if the person takes action to change themselves, does Allah actually play any role?

This is an Orthodox icon of Jesus Christ the Pantocrator. He is “in the act of blessing” hence his right hand in that certain position, whilst he is holding the closed gospel book in his left hand. With his hand conducting the blessing, his fingers are pointed upwards. This is an indication of pointing towards Heaven and shows how strong his relationship and relevance is with Heaven. Christ is looking directly out and to the center where the viewers would be standing. This gives a personal connection between them and the icon.

He has a Greek inscription above his head within the red drawn halo, also known as the ‘nimbus’, which means “I am who I am”.(Expand on this)

He is wearing a blue robe. The blue robe represents the relation of Heaven and himself. It describes Christ’s “fully divine nature”(Aleteia — Catholic Spirituality, Lifestyle, World News, and Culture, 2013)Another garment revealed is a red robe.Red symbolises blood, and in a humane body we have blood. Therefore this red robe represents the living. With the idea of Christ wearing both the blue and red robe which symbolises the divine nature and human nature, this indicates to the viewer that Christ is part of both worlds. He is human but also relates to the divine world.

All of these Orthodox icons are covered with gold in the background. It also represents uncreated light within the icon. Usually, you would find a source of light such as the sun on the corner of the page, or a candle that one would be holding, but in this icon, there is no created light source. Since light is bright and golden, the background acts as the subtle light. The background also represents God; therefore, the light is God himself shining the light on you and your path. This also gives the idea that God acts as a source of guidance, just like how light is a source of vision in people’s everyday lives.

Grand pieces of artwork allow for deep exploration into the mysteries of the universe. In this ceremonial hanging, there are many different things going on at once, yet the image stays symmetrical. The expression of life as busy, yet balanced, is one of the many things expressed in this artwork. Art had the power to convey many different meanings through the use of symbols and colour. This hanging is excellent at exploring the different areas of reality - the art is split into two sections (the top green section and the bottom blue section), which could be an interpretation of a heaven or afterlife, or an expression of a higher power. Wonder and mystery are expressed and explored in this artwork through the layout of the different key symbols, which in turn are representative of bigger, greater things.

this piece Accentuates cultural and spiritual beliefs of the society which was located in the Solomon Islands. It combines culture and belief to form spirituality through this idea of wonder and mystery. During the early 1900’s, when this piece was created, people questioned the potential existence of supernatural powers/figures or the ideology that we weren’t alone and that there’s more than just our material world. This piece adheres to this wonder and mystery, particularly associated with the supernatural powers. The people within the Makira-Ulawa province believed that the Bonito fish was difficult to catch and as a result, had supernatural powers. Religion and spirituality was based around the seas as a result of the location of the Island. This meant people used the seas and what surrounded them to assist in what they believed in. Therefore, this expresses spirituality of the people within this province and how they combined their islander culture with beliefs to form their own spirituality inwhich they identified with.
