The creation of flavors that appeal to a younger generation is to help for the creator to make a profit with a product that may appeal to a more immature taste palette. This is wrong and is starting children out with a bad habit that can be difficult to break.

I chose this advertisement by the author, Budweiser, in order to represent how stereotypes can be used in order to reach a targeted audience. Specifically, this ad displays a women pouring a beer for a man who is fixing an object with a hammer in hand. This plays on gender roles and targets the male dominating patriarchy, and the submissive and nurturing women stereotype. In using this strategy, it glorifies Budweiser as the type of beverage this group of men drinks. The author also adds a sense of masculinity to the drink by conforming to this gender role stereotype that women should stay home and tend to their husband while their husband works. This stereotype is upsetting because it implies that women are not seen having important careers which is really important to me for my future.

I chose this advertisement to represent messages that are selective representations of reality. The ad features a doctor who people typically associate with health and trust, which selectively highlights a claim that is not justified. The ad does not mention health risks or scientific evidence. Instead, it focuses on a doctor encouraging smoking which manipulates the audience's perception of smoking as safe and even beneficial. By using a trusted figure the ad creates a false message that smoking will help protect your throat against irritation. Overall, the ad selectively represents reality by showing a false claim while omitting health information in order to shape the publics perception in a way that benefits cigarette companies.

Many people today are so caught up in social media and believe that they are defined by what they see and how they act online that people don't see that a lot of things on social media are not real. This message is targeted to many people but especially those who are women who constantly feel defined and put down by the things they see or post online. The main push of the ad is to play on the audiences Pathos and make them feel sad for the dog. They achieve this by making the image of the a small, sad dog dominate the ad, alongside a cage-like door on the left. This focus on the image along with the slightly melancholy small text shows that it's the more important part of the image. It's AA2 because it's pushing for people who already have dogs due to it being a dog food ad, thus more likely to become sad from this image.

I focused on the common topic of authors targeting specific audiences. This advertisement is promoting whey protein powder, in the attempt to grab attention of individuals who are into weight training and personal health. They used the face of three well-known athletes, that are a prime example of fitness. This method is effective because it quickly draws attention and brings credibility of the product to both their fan base and general public.

The Farmer's Dog commercial is known as the 'tear-jerker ad' from the 2023 Superbowl. It shows the long life of a dog and its owner, both through the owner's eyes and the dog's. The commercial is promoting the Farmer's Dog as the go-to food brand for a happy and long-living pet. The commercial momentarily effects the viewer's emotions to draw and keep their attention while making the brand memorable.

I chose this advertisement because it promotes the movie Despicable Me 2 in partnership with McDonald's. It's clear this partnership is focused on attracting a younger audience. The movie's popularity is likely to attract children, especially considering the happy meal comes with a variety of toys. If children see this advertisement they may try to persuade their parents to purchase the meal to collect all the toys. I believe this advertisement is effective in raising sales along with capturing a specific audience.

The concept that I am aiming to illustrate is, "AA2: Authors target specific audiences." I spent a bit of time looking for this old tv advertisement for NHL games. Where they allowed subscribers to watch games from outside their "local viewing area." They are targeting hockey fans who watch the games at home on their television and have replica boards around the television and the hook is that "every game is a home game" making it feel like you are actually there. I believe that this is an effective form of marketing

Zendaya is a very well known actress which allows the authors to target a wide age range of women. This ad is very strategic and beneficial to the authors because it influences woman to try the products in hopes of being like this celebrity or simply because her endorsement alone convinced them.

I chose this advertisement because Heinz is really putting emphasis to show their audience that their ketchup is the best and is healthy. They are targeting a specific audience, those who use their ketchup and even ketchup users in general. Heinz also really brings value using this imagery and the wording. The bottle being slices of tomatoes and using the word "grows" go hand in hand. This image brings more value to their statement about them "growing" their ketchup made from fresh tomatoes. As well as this relates to the advertisement having a specific point of view. It communicates to you to believe that their ketchup is healthy and doesn't compare to other brands.

I chose this image of the 1529 Propoganda Map made by Spanish map makers because it really well represents how media comes from a certain point of view. When this map was made, Spanish map makers didn't have any accounts of the west coast of the Americas and so decided to omit it completely. This leads to what looks like a seemingly endless body of land. This, of course, isn't correct, but it was what map makers had to go on from previous expeditions. This point of view would be incredibly different if a map was made by Indigenous peoples along the west coast of the Americas.

This photo has a lot of emotional appeal to it, also known as ethos. The advertisement makes viewers feel some type of sadness in a way, attempting to convince or influence people to give dogs a new home. In the picture, the dog also looks sad so that adds even more emotion to it along with the message that it brings. I think this is a perfect representation of the MM3 concept.
