For example if the class was working with fractions, the manipulatives would help students feel what the whole would be (let's say 5/5) and feel what it would be like to have part of that whole (let's say 3/5). With the manipulatives they would be able to feel the difference between the two groups and physically count the difference.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><mark>Enlarge print on activities and worksheets/magnification pages:</mark> this would be an accommodation for students who have a partial sight visual impairment. By enlarging the print, students are able to feel more confident about doing the activity because they are able to comfortably see the what the activity is showing or what it says. This is not something that teachers can only do when giving physical copies of worksheets or activities out. Whenever there is something on the Smart Board that is being projected, teachers can make sure to enlarge the print on that as well.</div>]]></description>

People believe that there is a barrier between the disability and what the person is capable. This misconception is also translated into the classroom because that is what students see in the media. Students can feel like they should just do everything for a student who has a visual impairment. When, in fact, students who have visual impairments are just as capable.  </div>]]></description>
