Mao Zedong is a tyrant because he has a history of committing tyrant actions similar to soviet union leaders Stalin and Lennin. He has lead the Great Leap Forwar in !958-1960, " as a major disaster, with estimates of the number of people killed by famine during this period ranging from a minimum of 14 million to as many as 43 million ( document 2)". This action of Mao Zedong shows how tyrant he is because not only did he murder millions of people he did this under the influence of tyrant leaders. The some citizens in China believe he was a hero but a number of peopl believe he demonized China. Mao Zedong is also responible for the Culture revolution that lead to a number of millions of people were persecuted. The culture revolution was a to establish his autority in China, "the students formed soldier-like groups called the Red Guards and attacked and harassed China’s elderly and intellectual population...period of violence and chaos led to much of China's artistic legacy destroyed. Also, millions were persecuted (mistreated), some of whom lost their lives(document 3).". The Culture revolution shows how tyrant Mao Zedong is, also the Great Leap forward is an example of why Mao Zedong is a tyrant leader.

-Chante

Mao Zedong was a tyrant because he has done many things that has shown that he is a tyrant. The "Great leap forward is an example of his tyrannical behavior because he made workers do the most dangerous of things so that China could become modernized and have an industrialized communist society. In document 2, it states that if communes "lacked" machinery or tools, the workers used "their bare hands" and both within china and outside the great leap forward is seen as "a major disaster" and an estimated range from a minimum of "14 million to as many as 43 million" died from the famine. This shows that he is a tyrant because he did not show interest in his workers health and only wanted to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals. Millions of innocent human being died because of his lack of sympathy and leadership when people started to use their bare hands to do a job that a machine was invented to do. His tyrant behavior can also be seeing in the cultural revolution(1966-1976) where he condoned violence towards people who did not believe the same as him. According to document 3, Mao "shut down" the nations schools, calling massive youth gathering to "attack" current part leaders for their "bourgeois beliefs"and "millions" were "persecuted" (mistreated) and some of whom lost "lost their lives". This also shows that he is a tyrant because he knew the power that his position contained and used it to mistreat others so that he would make them fear him and want to side with his beliefs. His tyrannical actions affected millions of people who wanted to have an opinion of their own, but instead they were treated brutally by manipulated young adults.

The communist leader of China, Mao Zedong had both a satisfactory and substandard side to the policies he implemented in China to reform the country. There were times when he failed the country namely during the Great Leap as well as the cultural revolution but overall, he set the country's foundation for success. Several of his approaches and strategies led China to being one of the greatest nations in Asia although he had a rough start with the Nationalists(KMT) led by Chiang Kai-Shek. His leadership aided the lower class and peasants since they were neglected by the KMT whose leadership only benefited the wealthy population. He had a plan set for the nation which included the peasants who had been forgotten and neglected by the Nationalists as seen in document 2 which says "The KMT did little to modernize agriculture or to get rid of disease, illiteracy, and underemployment in the villages and small towns scattered over China." His actions proved him to be a hero among the lower class as he made it his aim and motive to support the poorer population of China as he"brought land reforms to peasants throughout that country that made them so popular in the Northwest."(Document #1: Years 1945-1959) When he came to power, he proclaimed his directive to make China a powerful communist nation and although he failed and caused many deaths, his motives were positive as he unified China as one country called the People's Republic of China and ended the country's long history of civil wars. His positive contributions to the nation overshadowed his mistakes even now as a majority of Chinese citizens respect the leader as they consider his good merits as greater than his mistakes. He was a leader to the peasants, to the poorer population and to the success of the nation.

The communist leader,Mao Zedong ,was both he had a positive impact but also a negative one. Mao Zedong established schools, gave women some rights and also they had better hospitals (3rd video) China kind of innovated because of him, However he was cruel. It's estimated that about 45 milling people died during his regime, Its known that he made parents bury their kids alive or that as a punishment he made people work naked in winter. Not only this but during his regime people were starving,it is also known that he didn't give any old people food because he said they were a waste of space and let them starve to death. So what would this make him? clearly not a hero, yes he did good things but at the end of a day a leader shouldn't make his people go through this type of things.

During his rule over China, Mao Zedong was a tyrant. In his years he followed the ideology of Communism and begun the Great Leap Forward (1958-1960). This was a plan similar to the 5 year plan initiated by Stalin in the Soviet Union. He planned to shape the once agriculturally based country into a place full of machines and an economy of one that rivals America's. In the process of this he induced a famine, killing 14-45 million people. Many died under his rule due to starvation or mistreatment. This began many political leaders to question his rule which caused Mao to take thousands of children from school and create a red guard, they were used to "purify" and bring back faith and show that he was not a bad ruler.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant like any other communist ruler. He wanted the peasants to overrule against their ruler to have that land be distributed back to the people but that didn't really happened. He instead killed more than 14 million people with a famine to try and make China less outdated and killed even more people in the cultural revolution where anyone who didn't support him was soon dead to where"millions were persecuted(Document #3: Cultural Revolution)". This is important because he was abusing his power to make his people suffer for going against him because his five year plan failed. Another detail is "Chinese youths were trained to worship Mao and his sayings, similar to that which existed for Joseph Stalin from the Soviet Union and Adolf from Nazi Germany (Document #3: Cultural Revolution)." This is important because comparing someone to people who are known to kill millions of people, the most hated and controversial people in history, to compare someone to that really shows that their actions can be seen as nothing but pure evil. He may of had done some great things like improve life expectancy and trying to make China modern however, all the lost lives and abuse he did just can't outweigh the scary facts. This shows that Mao Zedong is a utter tyrant that ended up being like 🤬 or Joseph Stalin.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant. He supported the Communist party, and was influenced by communist leader Joseph Stalin. This ideology led him to create the Great Leap Forward. The Great Leap Forward (1968-1960) was a plan Mao Zedong came up with to industrialize China, but quickly went bad. Farmers had to work for the state and the food they produced, and if there wasn’t enough food the farmers wouldn’t get to eat. He didn’t care about any of his citizens, he only cared about keeping up with others and modernizing China. This caused a famine and 14-43 million people were killed during the Great Leap Forward. Another way Mao Zedong was a tyrant was the Cultural Revolution. The Cultural revolution was Mao Zedong's way of setting authority in China, by having millions of people prosecuted, and some killed. He is a tyrant because he will do anything to be like other Communist leaders even if it is putting other people in harm.

Mao Zedong a communist ruler, a tyrant for many, a hero in the eyes of China. Many names and titles, but in my view he is a tyrant leader. The reason why he is a tyrant leader is because of his actions as a leader, he has risked, endangered and killed the lives of many under his ruthless commands. He has used the desires of the peasants, which was a better lifestyle, to lead ruthless riots and protest and would encourage his followers to kill the lords to gain his own power while eliminating the threat of Nationalist(Capitalist). Although he was seen as a hero to the Chinese because he doubled the education, gave women their rights, and increased medications and hospitals, but the things that led to these achievements was due to the power he conquered because he eliminated his rivals through his riots. Another thing is that the Chinese now, well around middle age people, see Mao as a leader and hero, but the reason is because of the Cultural revolution that he did and during this time there was chaos and destruction and millions were mistreated and died and while this happened the children from a young age were being trained to follow and respect Mao which shows how the Chinese till this day see him as a hero, do you know who this sounds like, its 🤬. Although he did have some good intentions to be seen as a hero, he did it through a tyrant leadership of fear and being ruthless and insane.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant because he had a taste of being in power and did not want to lose that authority. He had encouraged the Cultural Revolution which was simply manipulating the youth into believing and following him. The Cultural Revolution can be compared to a mask, Mao was masking the revolution as the youth trying to get rid of the impurities but in reality, he just wanted to stay in power, using the teens to his advantage to overthrow his other party members that did not agree with him. Furthermore, his plans for the Great Leap Forward had not gone the way he expected. The communes were not successful, only resulting in millions of deaths due to famine. Additionally, Mao Zedong had resulted to cruelty and brutality in order to keep his followers, to have people fear him for his power to be maintained. A tyrant is a cruel and oppressive ruler which Mao Zedong clearly portrays with his many actions of manipulation and brutal intentions. But on the other hand people till this day in china still admire him as a hero in Tiananmen square in the heart of Beijing where people rated him as 30% good and 70% good and people say his only mistake was the Cultural Revolution.

Mao was a tyrant in my eyes. don't get me wrong, he has done a lot of good things for his country. he helped peasants get land redistributed equally and fairly, and took place in the long march which gave him a good advantage. during the march, he and his army confiscated (took away) property and weapons from local landlords, while recruiting peasants and the poor into their ranks. the success of this march made him the new leader of their settlement. in addition, he was also able to survive the Japanese invasion for 10 years. they really gained power. they took the disadvantages of the kmt and made sure they succeeded on that part. they made sure their economy was strong and their military was too. they also made sure that they mobilized rural population, which developed unity. however, he had done unnecessary bad things that ruined all the good things he did. for example, what he did just to make himself look god is unbelievable. Mao Zedong was blamed for the excesses following China's liberation from colonial rule. the number is unknown of how many people died due to his policies and those just murdered under the regime. it is sometimes said to be about 40 million to 65 million.
around 45 million people either starved, worked to death, or were beaten to death.
historian Frank d. said that this brutal event "it ranks alongside the gulags and the Holocaust as one of the three greatest events of the 20th century. it was Pol Pot's genocide multiplied by 20 times over".the rulers were strict about crime, and in one instance the child had his hands tied and were thrown into the river.
others were forced to work naked in winter as punishment, some were branded, others set on fire, and some would have their nose or ears cut off.
parents were forced to bury their children alive.
people were kept away from where the food was served if they were old or weak because they believed that they were a waste of space and should be starved to death. also, he used propaganda's, the media, posters and unrealistic stories to promote this veritable savior.
so many people were sent to jail just for sharing their opinions.
many people took their own lives before they could be forced to work or be executed.
some were buried alive if they refused to hand over harvests, refusing to hand over what little food they had.
people would eat their dead friends and families.
if people got in his way, blood was often spilled. overall, what he did impacted his overall good things he did.

Mao Zedong was a cruel and oppressive tyrant, although some can only see the very few things he did good as a ruler since he didn't do many good things I believe that he was a tyrant and doesn't deserve the title as a hero.Mao Zedong's way of helping his people was encouraging the peasants to take land from landlords by any means necessary (murder).Mao Zedong had policies that only protected him and only harmed others. The same people that he "protected" was some of the same people that he silenced whenever the people voiced their opinion and would even send them to jail.Mao Zedong launched his hundred flowers campaign so that citizens could voice their opinion on the national opinion and saw this as an advantage to target the critics to later on send them to labor camps.Since the people in china were starved the people became cannibals and sometimes even ate people in their own families.Mao encouraged his people to do bad things such as harming other people to get things they want, though people claim he is a good ruler this is false because a good ruler wouldn't encourage his citizens to harm others." They encouraged peasants to take over landlords’ fields and other property".While Mao Zedong was a ruler there was a lot of chaos and death." This period of violence and chaos led to much of China's artistic legacy destroyed. Also, millions were persecuted (, some of whom lost their lives)". Historians don't even know the estimated amount of death so it ranges from 14-43 million and others say 65 million,so the amount of deaths is unclear.Mao had famines, starvation, poverty ,cultural revolution, and the list goes on.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant no question about it. Mao was compared to as the Stalin of China and we all know what kind of person Stalin was. Mao let his people STARVE and DIE!!!! That is no leader at all. Soviet Russia had already proved the idea that the five plan didn't work and left many of the Russian people to die. So knowing this why would Mao leave his people to die knowing what the out come was going to be is mind blowing. He encouraged many of the lower class to KILL those who were landowners and to attack those who didn't agree with him. Mao made the people of China WORSHIP HIM!!!! He was like a little version of 🤬 and Stalin. This man killed an estimate of 40-65 MILLION PEOPLE!!! Stalin killed 20 million people!!! Compared to the amount Mao killed that is light work. Mao had his own little purge and killed those who didn't agree with him!! And the only reason current day china cannot say their true opinion is because they are still under COMMUNIST CONTROL!! Everything they say is checked on!! Everything they read is checked on. They only hear what the government wants them to hear.

My son Mao was a whole Tyrant to China. He preached for people to just kill them off for his own self benefit. I mean, c'mon if he wasn't contradictory I don't know what is. The cultural Revolution was so unnecessary. I don't even know why he even decided why it'd be a good idea. Plus, he was encouraging people to kill each other..like I guess Mao didn't get the 🤬 that the great purge has been done already. I get he was allied with Russia, but Mao was seriously tying to be Stalin so bad. Stalin already did what Mao was trying to do and failed. He even went into the trouble of killing 40-65 million people. He did this as if he was trying to control overpopulation. Yeah, he was a whole tyrant.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant. Yes, he gave people back land, had Chinese education doubled and had Woman's Rights but he also was responsible for creating a massacre. He murdered about 40-65 million people under the regime. He would have people branded, set on fire, or have their ears and nose even cut off. Parents were also forced to bury their kids alive. Old or weak people were seen as a waste of space to him so they died of starvation. Mao encouraged peasants to kill others for land. He launched his Hundred Flowers Campaign so that people could have a voice an vice and give their opinion on how Mao was doing and what he could make better. However, he didn't take this into consideration. He was sort of like a mix of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin in the similar way that they dealt with this. Like Joseph Stalin, many people were sent to jail, were executed or sent to labor camps because of their opinions. Sadly, people were take their own life before being executed by someone else of before they were sent to the labor camps. In my eyes, Mao Zedong was 30% a hero and 70% a tyrant.

Mao has qualities of a tyrant and a hero. Yes, he did kill millions through his regime, but he was also able to modernize China. So, the real question here is, is he a tyrant or a hero? It depends on how a person views this situation and who it affected. If you were a peasant when Mao was turning China to a Communist nation you would have benefited from his rule, but looking from the perspective of a wealthy landlord, you would have been frightened because your land and property would have been taken away by force and you would have been killed if you were to refuse. Mao was a hero because he was able to give the peasants and the poor more opportunities where they did not need to suffer, this was done by distributing the land and property taken away from the wealthy by force, making him a tyrant, too. Mao told peasants that they could use violence against those that did not agree to give in their lands, which led to many being killed between 1930 and 1959. Activist would set up meetings with the poor to plan out how they were going to fight against the landlords and KMT supporters, " These meetings encouraged peasants to punish and often to kill them, and to distribute their land and property," leading to unnecessary deaths during this time. The Great Leap Forward plan that Mao created was a disaster because it killed about 14-43 millions by the famines created by this plan. He also punished those who voiced their opinions about his rule by sending them to prison, labor camps or executed them, many were killed because of this and is why he is more of a tyrant.

Mao Zedong was a tyrant.Though he´d done many great things and 85% 0f people said his good outweighs the bad i disagree.Around 40-60 people were killed during Mao Zedong's regime. His attempt to modernize china led to a famine killing from a minimum of 14 million to 43 million people. Mao ruled by fear and had an intolerance for criticism which led to the deaths and arrest of those who voiced there opinions. He Was sometimes called one of the worse mass murderers in the history of tyrants. Mao's policies are blamed for chaos, famine , and mass murdering´s. Mao Zedong is definitely more of a tyrant then a hero.
