         <title>Battle of mobile bay</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The battle of mobile bay was a battle between the union and the confederacy that took place near the city of mobile.  In this battle, around 5500 troops were present while only around 1500 confederacy troops were present during the battle. The union ended up claiming victory in this battle. After the battle, it was told that 322 union forces died while 1500 confederate forces died.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the civil war, Alabama was a more involved state, this is because  7 battles were fought in the state of Alabama. Although Alabama was a place with many battles, William Lowness Lancey was tasked with an important task, to get recognition as an independent country from Europe. Williams efforts ended up leading to the south attempting to withhold cotton from Europe in order to get recognition. To conclude, Although 7 battles took place in Alabama, Lancey played an important role in attempting to establish trade with Europe.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the civil war, the city of mobile played an extremely important role in the civil war. Mobile was an extremely important port city that was established in the gulf of mexico. a port city is a city that has a water area for imports, such as cargo ships. losing the city of mobile to the union was detrimental for the confederacy, since they lost one of their main ports to transfer supplies.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Governer Andrew B.Moore&nbsp;had followed the practice of other southern states, by using secession. He also helped support the war by donating and sending troops. By February 4th, 7 other southern states had seceded and 6 of them sent delegates to Alabama. They later adopted a provisional government.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the civil war, Alabama was very relevant in terms of battles, especially the mobile bay. to add on to this, Alabama contributed with soldiers and supplies. Being more specific, Alabama had lent 500 troops to Florida's governor. They had also lent $500,000 for defense and owed $3,000,000 in debt. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Although Alabama only had one game changing battle taken place on the state, The Alabama troops actually traveled and fought in multiple battles. For example, the troops participated in a skirmish in burnsville. This goes to show that the troops sent from Alabama did contribute the confederacy side.</p>]]></description>
