I’ve had the privilege of completing my placements within the organization where I am currently employed. This experience has allowed me to deepen my learning in a familiar environment while gaining new insights through hands-on practice. I have especially enjoyed working in both the toddler and preschool rooms, where I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with experienced RECEs. Their guidance has encouraged me to think outside the box and view children's learning and development from new perspectives.

I chose to pursue a career in the childcare field because I have always had a strong desire to be a part of young children’s lives. Growing up around educators, I saw firsthand how rewarding this work can be, and it inspired me to follow a similar path.

As I continue to grow into my role as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), I look forward to supporting children and their families, especially during the important hours when parents are at work. It’s important to me that families feel confident and reassured knowing their child is in caring and capable hands. Being a positive part of a child’s day is something I truly value and take pride in.

Reflection: These documents, or as I like to call them, the holy bible for early childhood educators, have been and are great resources. They have helped me to look at how I document, how I can set out an invitation and provocation to try and meet the needs of children in my care. In children's development, there is no clear-cut reason, and sometimes, as educators, we are like detectives and trying to see what a child needs and how they need it, and make a difference. This is an area i have really set goals for myself as grow as an educator working with young children.

Reflection: As i continue to research, read, and learn about the documentation and the importance of it, I am learning what the purpose of how we say things and the area we look at that helps educators think and move forward in the daily interactions.

Reflection:I truly enjoyed sitting down with the family and getting to know them. It was such an addition to be able to see the family outside the child care environment. It made me put the pieces together that sometimes we do not think of when working with the child and family. It was lovely to see and compare what life is now then it was when I grew up.

This really allowed me to create an invitation and a provocation for the young children based on their interests. I was also able to add to the activity and try to explore a different avenue. I enjoyed it, and the children really taught me about inviataitoanal play.

I knew I always wanted to work with children of all ages. I was able to look at my experience with the older children and write about my connections with the CECE policies and platform.

 This section outlines four physical items that will be placed in each play centre to encourage and support literacy development.

This is achieved through the Dramatic Play Centre, Block Centre, Creative Centre, Science/Math Centre, and the Outdoor Environment.
