ETHICS - To what extent are the methods used in the human sciences limited by the ethical considerations involved in studying human beings?

In 1769, an English physician named Edward Jenner made a development for smallpox that anyone who had cowpox will not get smallpox. In order to test his theory, he got pus from someone who had cowpox and injected it into a child who was 8 years old and then exposed her to someone who had smallpox.

 

Jenner’s theory was proved successful but forcefully injecting a minor with cowpox then exposing her to a deadly disease at the time was very unethical. If this was done today, Jenner would probably go to jail for child abuse. 

 

Another example of unethical experiments that were forcefully done on people was during the holocaust when the Nazi scientists experimented on the Jews. From that the Nuremberg codes were made to stop these unethical practices. Though many discoveries were made, and vaccines developed from the experiments, it was still very unethical. Nowadays, because of the Nuremberg codes, scientists are not allowed to test on human beings without their consent and if it is harmful.

Fact is something thats proven, claim = assumption and something yet to be proven and truth = 'undisputed' fact. Mr Monteath said knowledge is something I don't have.
