He was good at controlling others so for this to happen was odd. The way that he used the puppies that were once Blue Bells and Jessies' was cruel and a way to foreshadow the type of leader that Napoleon would be.

These nine dogs are the puppies Napoleon took in many months ago. Having been under Napoleon's care these dogs are now rough, mean and stuck. They are stuck because they have not learned to think for themselves, and they have not been exposed to any other animals, only Napoleon. Napoleon's opinion is their opinion.

A key turning point in the book is when Snowball is chased off the farm. Then Napoleon took over the farm, making everyone build the windmill to help the farm. While working the pigs made the house their home. Clover was confused by this and went to look at the rules. When she asked Muriel to read them they had changed. The next morning the windmill was destroyed and Napoleon thinks snowball did this. So he tells everyone that snowball is now wanted and the animal who finds snowball and brings him back alive, will get a reward.

All the animals are saying that there was a commandment that stated no sleeping in beds, but the pigs are doing so. Muriel says, "...'No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.' " Muriel directly lied to Clover. A turning point here is that the animals in leadership are changing laws under the other's noses. Another turning point here is that the animals are starting to directly question the leadership of Napoleon (their current system).

And Napoleon blamed Snowball for destroying the windmill, "Do you know the enemy who has come in the night and overthrown our windmill? SNOWBALL!...

A good turning point in Animal Farm was when the Seven Commandments were rewritten. Napoleon rewrote the seven commandments because he felt that he was royalty compared to the other animals. He wanted to maintain his power by rewriting the seven commandments by including that "some animals are more equal than others." Due to him changing the seven commandments, he is legally allowed to maintain his power and be in full control over the farm.

Chapter 5 is a turning point because the farm goes from being owned equally among the animals to being controlled by Napoleon. When the animals took over they decided to live by the idea of communism but when Napoleon took over the farm became a totalitarian government controlled by him.

Maria R: "Farm life for the animals in Chapter 6 seems to be content, but they are overworked. They end up in a rage at the end because the windmill they were building is destroyed by a storm in the middle of the night. Napoleon blames the leveled windmill on Snowball." This can be a turning point because it makes the animals see how they are making changes or how changes are happening. The animals do want changes but they dont want to cause problems.

It is a turning point when the pigs lie and hide the fact that they are taking the milk and eggs, then manipulate the farm into letting them when they get caught. "It is for your sake we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed our duty? Jones would come back" The pigs successfully manipulate the farm animals, putting themselves on a higher pedestal than the rest of the animals, which is exactly what Major did not want.
