18th March, On my first reporting day at Human Resource (HR) Department Resorts World Genting. I arrive at 10am. Then, 3 staffs of HR department take attendance and bring all interns to know well staff welfare services, staff accommodation and so on. after lunch break, I attended a briefing by the HR Department. During this session, detailed explanations were provided regarding the background of Resorts World Genting such as, the core business of Resorts World Genting, business divisions such as Hotel, Theme Park, Casino, Entertainment, and Food and Beverages, rules and regulations as Genting staff, facilities available for staff, restaurant available for staff signing and lastly a simple quiz of dos and don'ts. Before the session end, I received my intern ID card.

On 19th March, all interns under Genting Highlands Theme Park (GOTP) was lead by Learning, Development, Engagement (LDE) unit staffs to office building and undergone a short briefing session named Sky Agency Onboarding: New Recruits, to familiarize ourselves with the expectations and guidelines of our role as student trainees for the next six months. In the afternoon, my company supervisor guide me to office and briefly explain jobscope as part of Retail and Merchandise team member.

On 20th and 21st March, we were giving a training program named Sky Agency Induction Program. We learn in detail about the scope of our responsibilities and the dos and don'ts during the internship period. Additionally, we were administered a test to assess our understanding of maintaining a positive image in leisure and hospitality, as well as adherence to grooming standards. Team spirit was emphasized at all module sessions. I had the opportunities to know other four international interns from Nepal.

On 27th and 28th of March, I went for another training as a preparation for entering VIP, VQ & EVENT department in July. The training programme named 'Cultivating Customers Centric Culture - The GTP Way'.

On 4th April, building block toys arrived and were displayed on sale. I took two set to build as display sample in store. Other than that, I also learn Visual Merchandising for the retail outlets and Quantity Check for new arrival merchandise, made survey about photos price package, learn using software applications to track inventory data, as well as made proposal for promoting merchandise using social media.

For the morning on 7th April, I attended an assesment for previous training programme (Cultivating Customers Centric Culture - The GTP Way). After that I enter office to continue my work.

To boost the guests’ visitation and desire of purchase, 60 year anniversary promotion voucher were distributed to retail business partners in indoor theme park.

On 13th of April, a meeting held out to brief for upcoming events and planning until the end of the year. Assistant Manager had reminded to always focus on visual merchandising of retail outlets. I had given task to do research about generic products as back-up plan for upcoming events.

On 16th and 17th April, I continue sort the different wires at IT store, and improved the visual merchandising of the display table at Redwood Trading Post outlet.

I had offdays from 18th April to 21st April 2025, and went home to rest.

On 24th April, I try to draft concept paper for proposed Parents’ Day promotion in Indoor Theme Park retail outlet - Skyhanger.

On 25th April, me and another colleague collect printing materials that promote Genting Skyworlds Wooven Bag and distributed to all outlets. It is a initiative to promote recycle bag and no paper bag policy.

On 26th April, Assistant Manager give brief meeting to underline importance of monitoring inventory status, balancing stock level between storeroom and outlets, daily routines to do and old stock mobilization method. After the meeting, I recap excel knowledge to make pivot table and use VLOOKUP formulae.

On 27th and 28th April, I had make a list for stock to be raised and transferred to Clearance outlets, to prepare for upcoming Labor Day weekend. I also learned to do parcel drop at Mailing room.

On 3rd May, I helped to look for certain EPOS terminal and locate it as well as chopping campaign voucher for VVE department. In the afternoon on 4th May, I join in a meeting with the supplier — Axxel Marketing person-in-charge, Mr. Eric, and assigned for some task related with sample and stock delivery. On 5th May, a quick briefing on the upcoming merchandise photoshoot was conducted to ensure smooth process in assisting marketing team on 8th May.

6th May was an off day. On 7th May, I do preparation works for upcoming photoshoot including collecting merchandise and mannequins for display, as well as managing loan forms to support internal tracking.

On 9th of May, I follow up old stock mobilization status at Clearance store and having appropriate communication with the staff. Then, I made a research on release date and streaming platform of some upcoming movies. On the following days, I had assisted to shortlist generic product item proposed by supplier and sort it into product launch calendar template. At the same time, I also made research about generic products of certain themes and season such as Halloween and. Dragon-themed movie.

On 12th of May, I had verified abnormal storage data at certain stores recorded in system, then send email to executive in-charge for old stock mobilization. It is to ensure balance and enough stock at different store locations before school holiday at the end of May.

On 13th of May, I had assisted to collect mystery bag sticker.

During this week, I also assisted to standby new merchandise arrival to outlets to do quality check.

I had offday from 17th of May to 20th of May. And I have a ride on Gohtong Jaya Cable Car since Awana Cable Car is under maintenance service.

The new merchandise arrived by 21st of May and quality check was carried out. At the same time, it was last day of my intern colleague, Mun Wei who will end her internship soon.

During school holiday week, sales boosted and some merchandise stock running low. Therefore, apart from continue monitor aging stock inventory and mobilization, I also assist monitoring inventory situation of low stock level merchandise and ensure balance distribution between outlets.

I off one day on 17th of June.

Besides, I assist to collect samples from different supplier on upcoming merchandise development, as well as merchandise collection to borrow to marketing team for photoshooting.

After came back from offdays, I assist to prepare for upcoming merchandise further markdown of category GRG Merchandise that will start on 1st of July 2025. The preparation including print POP needed, brainstorm VM, and inventory transfer. An idea of garage sale corner was implemented in order to group display all further markdown merchandise in respective outlets.

I assist to continue raise stock from warehouse, allocate stock from store room to outlets and adjust outlets VM to ensure every outlets got enough stock variety instead of seem empty.

I had my offdays on 4th of August.

For the further markdown of RMOA category merchandise, I had assist to send printing request before, so this week need to do follow up printing progress and collect it from studio. During theme park dark day (Tuesday), VM and related POP display are done with assistance of outlet staff.

Half of Galaxy store are splited and pushcart are prepared for Gohtong Way Retail as "shopping place" for public, since Gohtong Way are free admission. I assisted to prepare listing of inventory, as well as set up Gohtong Way pushcart. Old pushcart was used at the moment as new designed pushcart delievry delayed. I failed to update the detailed progress from time to time during preparation stage. I should always prepared to guide staff even breifing already given.

I had my offdays on 10th and 11th of August.

I also managed to find and sort out some sellable merchandise from storeroom, which are needed to further verified its condition either to sell or to scrap.

I had my offdays on 19th and 20th of August.

During dark day at 26th of August, I assisted to set up 2 Pick-A-Name Fixtures . Pick-A-Name finally launched at 27th of August and had a good sales as it liked by theme park visitors.

I also done verified condition of merchandise to sell or scrap and pass the list to operation executive to transfer to outlets and prepare scrap list.

I had my offdays on 24th, 25th and 29th of August.

Besides, I had the chance to learn to prepare IST form, when other department request new merchandise to display on-site. I also made research and prepared a product launch proposal plan for brand Mad Raem Paek.

I had my offdays on 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th of September.

As usual, I assist at theme park entrance during park opening during public holiday. After that, I continue to monitor outlet VM display and do stock mobilization to maximize sales performance. I also managed to prepare a reorder proposal plan of Pick-A-Name charms based on actual sales data and customer preference.

I had my offdays on 12th, 18th and 19th of September.
