I think formative and summative assessments are great ways to incorporate in classes. Formative would see where kids are lesson wise while doing exit tickets, warm ups, quizlets. Summative would be the actual test to see how much they know.

Vygotsky Scaffolding and zone of proximal development has helped me because when you teach students something new it's important to provide scaffolding throughout their learning process. Scaffolding can be in the form of modeling, peer share, group work, class discussions, etc. The goal is to support them until they have gained the necessary skills needed to be able to do something independently.
