Proximity is a Principle of Design that refers to the relationship in space between the elements of the design. The rules of proximity: things that are related should be nearer to each other, and things that are unrelated should be placed further from each other

Make 2 white hexagons each with a 1 point line and then Blend them to 8 steps. Add the blend to a circle and then change the Blend option to Specified Distance.

Using these same steps, do 2 additional blends with stars with different numbers of points and colors.

Make a circle and make the line dashed. Adjust the weight until the rays merge into the center. Then adjust the size of dashes until the gaps are all a consistent. Object/Expand to turn the dashed line into a shape. fill with a Radial gradient.

1. Type a word in all uppercase, block lettering

2. Convert type to outlines & duplicate

3. Cut the top word in half with the knife tool

4. Group the 2 halves and make the top portion lighter than the bottom

5. Skew the 2 halves so they reconnect in the middle

6. Position the duplicated word to underneath the 2 halves to appear like a shadow

• To constrain the knife tool to stay flat, hold down the shift & alt button while cutting

• To constrain the free transform skew to one direction, hold down the shift key

Use either the NW or Husky logo to create an offset path using the Object/Path/Offset path with a setting of .2 inches with a Round Joins to curve the edges

• Select/Copy just the yellow background shapes and paste in place on a new layer to help make your offset path.
