Last year I started as a Pre-Med: Biology major at Oklahoma State University with the intention of becoming a doctor. After my first semester, I began to question whether I wanted to continue on my path to med school or try something new. One of my closest friends was attending UCO at the time, and she highly encouraged me to look into nursing, as she thought it would be a better fit for me. That's where I developed a love for nursing. After looking into it and just talking to the nurses I know, I fell in love with how personable I could be as a nurse. As a nurse, I would be able to spend the most amount of time with those I would be assisting, whether they be doctors, patients, or families that come in. On another note, I also enjoyed the idea of getting through a nursing program and graduating in four years with a bachelor's in nursing. That would immediately open up job opportunities while also providing me with the opportunity to potentially go back to school and receive a concentration in any area of study I desired. There are many different concentrations, and the amount of flexibility within the field of nursing was genuinely mesmerizing to me. He is my only sibling, and we do everything together when our schedules are free. I'd like to think that we are polar opposites, and most of the time, people don't guess that we are siblings, but we really are two peas in a pod.
