He meets his roommate who gives him the nickname Pudge and soon after meets his roommates friend Alaska who he immediately falls for. She, unfortunately for Miles, has a boyfriend. Despite this, he becomes her friend and they become quite close. But then, something horrible happens that forces Miles to ask just how well did he really know her? I highly recommend this book.
