An ethical issue is that workers may be exploited by manufacturers of the cars. this is because, typically, workers in poorer countries are taken advantage of so the manufacturer pays a little amount money for their labour. This could lead to the workers having a low quality of life such as bad healthcare and education all because they are exploited by the manufacturer.

One ethical problem is that many workers may lose jobs as drivers would no longer be needed. This is because the autonomous vehicles can travel for much longer without breaks making them far more efficient than their human counterparts. This leads to the company removing the human factor as it costs them additional money to keep them employed. This would cause ethical issues as those who were employed would now be without a job and still in need of money.

One environmental issue is the manufacturing of vehicles often require rare raw resources. This can cause negative environmental impacts because these resources are often metals that need to me mined out from the ground in a large quarry. This can damage habitats and lead to increased air pollution.

This also leads to one ethical issue that is the acquisition of raw materials often involves unethical labour practices. This is because of the high demand for cheaper materials, at the expense of the quality of the work environment and pay of workers. This leads to workers being treated unfairly and being underpaid.

One ethical issue is taking humans jobs. This is because machines are more efficient than humans as machines don’t need breaks, they also don’t need to be paid. This could lead to business wanting to use the autonomous vehicles and will lead to economies going down this is because, less people have jobs and that means that the governments must give out more unemployment pay which means governments will have less money to spend on hospitals or libraries or important needs of people.

One legal issue is the vehicle might have to abide to the traffic laws by that country. This is an issue because some countries might drive on the left side of the road while another country might drive on the right. This could lead to the vehicle crashing or worse. Another legal issue is that the country might not allow driverless vehicles. This is because it could either stop the idea completely of making autonomous vehicles or having the vehicle drive around the country entirely.

One legal issue is that the autonomous cars could potentially be hacked. This is because these cars rely on computers to work and computers can be hacked, especially when there’s so many separate computers. It would makes it very hard to keep track of all of them. This could potentially lead to hacked redirecting the cars to drive into things to cause damage. They could even be made to drive into people! This is a legal issue as the computer misuse act says that doing that is illegal.

An example of ethical issue is that the introduction of autonomous vehicles would take away the jobs of the current truck drivers who rely on their job to gain a source of income. This would lead to a mass loss of jobs and an increase in people living in poverty across Europe, leading to a worse quality of life. Furthermore, there are surveillance type ethical issues associated with the introduction of these vehicles. It could be seen as unethical for these trucks to constantly be recording the road around them, as many people will not want to be in these recordings which could be leaked onto the internet.

A possible environmental issue with autonomous vehicles is the resources that may be used to build them. Mining for metals can lead to destruction of the habitats and loss of biodiversity. Another issue is that uses a lot of energy to power computers and to cool them. Depending on how the energy is produced this could have ramifications for the environment. However, the use of these trucks could have also have positive environmental impacts. For example, artificial intelligences do not need breaks and drive more efficiently than humans, this means less trucks will need to be used to do the same amount of work within a timeframe. As producing trucks requires resources and energy this is better for the environment.

In addition, a lot of companies get the materials and resources to fabricate the autonomous vehicles inside components which usually come from exploitative labour in foreign countries which is basically short for slavery which is not very ethical.

One issue with developing autonomous vehicles to drive HGV’s long distance across Europe is that different countries have differing traffic laws, so they would need to be programmed with this information and the capability to acquiesce to the legal requirements of each country.

Also, in some countries the legality of allowing autonomous vehicles on the road may be called into question, as since they are not sentient beings they are incapable of responding properly to unique situations they are not prepared for, which may happen on the road, If such an accident does take place, then the developers may be held as legally responsible for the accident caused by their product.

There is also the risk of computer misuse and the danger posed by malicious individuals, if someone were to program them wrongly or hack the autonomous vehicles, they could be used for terrorist purposes.

Another potential legal issue is that any data recorded by the autonomous vehicles falls under the Data Protection Act, and must be held securely.

This would be bad for the person who gets replaced by a robot because it would mean that they would have to find an alternative job to their previous one. They also wouldn’t be able to earn any money, which can lead to the human struggling to live without making compromises. Also, the materials required to manufacture a lorry need to be mined from countries which might have worse working conditions. This is bad because they might be getting exploited without your knowledge, and you would be paying the employers money to fund it.

There will be less and less driver jobs because businesses will take the advantage of paying less in their transportation of their goods.

One environmental concern regarding autonomous vehicles is the resources required for their production. Mining for metals can result in habitat destruction and a decline in biodiversity. Additionally, these vehicles consume a significant amount of energy to operate and cool their systems. Depending on the source of this energy, it could have negative effects on the environment. On the other hand, the use of autonomous trucks may also bring about positive environmental benefits. For instance, since artificial intelligence doesn't require breaks and can drive more efficiently than humans, fewer trucks may be needed to accomplish the same amount of work in a given time. While producing trucks does require resources and energy, this efficiency could ultimately be better for the environment.

Firstly, there are many legal problems with using these vehicles when considering laws, there can be different laws about using autonomous vehicles in different countries, so it may be difficult for the lorries to drive long distances across Europe. Since the vehicles are computers, they can get hacked, where misuse and cybercrime can be done onto these vehicles and might cause an accident where it can be difficult to decide to who’s at fault, where it is most likely developers of the program will be liable.

Ethically, this can take lorry drivers out of their jobs, where this is wrong as people who do these jobs need the money to live. It is also that producing these vehicles will need the resources to make them where they are usually obtained from exploitative labour.

Thinking environmentally, it can be good environmentally as driverless lorries are more efficient than human controlled lorries, this means that we need fewer vehicles. It is also that these are electric-powered lorries because it contains the artificial intelligence, so it should have lower emissions into the atmosphere. Although, manufacturing these vehicles could be more difficult and environmentally damaging as more resources are needed to construct one.

🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛

One Legal Issue is that if the vehicle gets in an accident, we will be conflicted in who’s responsible. This is because although the developers have created the product/machine, are they really responsible? The developers haven’t programmed the car to cause any trouble but they might have made some mistakes, as we are human after all. This can lead to ethical issues as well, as the car might kill a person or an animal. This can cause further investigations to check if the car was “hacked” and done on purpose, which also is a legal issue.

A legal issue is shown in the legal arguments for the responsibility of a crash, does the manufacturer have responsibility or does the driver. This could manifest itself in the impact of a new law. Furthermore the vehicles may face legal challenges from country to country due to a difference in traffic laws perhaps even blocking autonomous vehicles all together, another legal challenge is the data protection of the sensitive data of where users are which may also vary from country to country. Finally companies would have to ensure their vehicles couldn’t be hacked as that would pose a threat to life under the law/

One legal issue is the transportation across many areas in Europe because there would be varied laws across different countries including traffic laws, speed limits as well as laws regarding the protection of data. This could lead to many issues considering how many different countries the vehicles would travel across. Furthermore, even if the company tries to keep up within all the different limits, if errors occur in the system, for instance, due to a cyber-attack, it would be a big problem as the company would still be hugely held account for the regulations transgressed.

Paragraph :O

A legal issue with builder driverless cars is that if they cause an accident who is responsible for the accident the company or the developers and another legal issue is what kind of data protection, will the recordings be public or would they hide people’s face because people might not feel comfortable with them potentially being recorded and are they going to follow all data laws in all the countries they are available in or are they legally allowed to drive driverless cars on the road at all, and how protected from hacker would they be because if they’re in the road and someone takes control that would probably put others in danger.

An ethical issue of using autonomous HGVs to drive long distances across Europe would be that it would be used to take humans jobs.

However, this decision would be good for the company who introduces them because it would mean that their costs would be lowered significantly. This would be because they don’t need to pay a human to drive long distances, which cuts down on employment costs. Also, an autonomous lorry doesn’t get tired, so it can keep driving for longer than a human. This would also lead to more profits, which would be good for owners and shareholders.

A legal issue with autonomous controlled vehicles is how they detect threats or objects due to driverless cars we can see how the detection can faulter and make dangerous decisions there have been cases were driverless cars have ran over people for thinking they were roads or crosswalks and with driverless cars its hard to pin the blame on one person if an accident occurs for example the car owner, Manufacturer, the victim(if it was their fault) or the company which would all come to play with a larger vehicle being controlled.

one environmental issue is that to manufacture these autonomous vehicles it would require raw resources which could harm the environment. This is because the machines would let out harmful fumes into the atmosphere as well as destroy habitats as it would be required to dig up a large area. This could lead to one ethical issue as it could affect the people living near because the machines would most likely be in used most of the time and cause disruption with the noises. The area of where the raw resources are extracted could expand and effect the houses nearby and the people who live there.
