Foster relationships with other educators who understand the joys, struggles, and other complexities of the education field. It's important to have a community that is supportive since it's hard to relate with people who aren't familiar with the work. Additionally, building relationships with more experienced teachers can help put things into perspective and may help when getting through harder parts of the job.

Being present in the moment and mindful of your mind, your body, and your surroundings is an important element to being resilient as a teacher. It's beneficial to take a step back and let go of things that can weigh you down like the never-ending work or the little things that go wrong. One of my favorite mindfulness practices is to take a walk, observe the world around you, and appreciate the moment you are in.

Giving yourself grace and being patient with yourself is extremely important. You're not always going to get things right on the first try, you will make mistakes, and it's okay. It's part of being a human. Growth mostly happens from making mistakes. Feeling uplifted by a support network can really make it easier to work through the struggles.
