One main event of this book is the turtle incident, because it is when Cameron realizes that there might be something wrong with Len and when he starts questioning their friendship. Another main event of this book is when Len takes Cameron to his father's work place and they experience his boss yelling at him. This is a main event because I think it is when Len finally broke down mentally. These are a few of the main events of the book, "Shooter".
Page: 53 and 125

Cameron changed throughout the book because in the beginning of the book he is still shocked from the shooting and he doesn't want to talk about it much, but by the end of the story, he can much more openly discuss the events of April 22. The shooting is not discussed very much in the first interview but it is all that is talked about in the last interview.

The main theme of this book is to not be afraid to ask for help, whether it be from a parent, teacher, or therapist. If Len or someone close to hi, had realized that something was wrong, they could have gotten him help. If that had happened, the horrific events in the book may not have occurred. That is why the main theme of the book is to not be afraid to ask for help.

Walter Dean Myers has a very unique writing style. He changes the perspective of who is talking very often throughout the book, he also adds small details that help you understand more about the story as well as the characters at the same time. There are not very many authors who can do that

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was entertaining to read and it also made me realize how much of an impact bullying can have on a teenager. Myers put school shootings in a new light by telling the story of one from the perspective of someone extremely close to the shooter, which helps the reader understand more about what a mentally ill person is going through as well as their thought process. I think people often imagine school shooters as monsters, when really most of them are just mentally ill or bullied individuals who were too afraid to ask for help, but I think this book helped correct that common mistake. Overall, I enjoyed the book as well as the lesson it taught.
