After a strenuous morning the floors had been scrubbed until they were spotless; the windows had been washed, the silverware polished to a reflective gleam while lunch was to be served at noon. Yet, there was no opportunity to rest as there was still more work to be done. She had been asked to work in the afternoon. After being pressured and cajoled, the additional shift was accepted despite the tell-tale ache in her left hip. The situation generated a great deal of anxiety in her.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
