people not being judgy and open minded, trying to have an engaging conversation which tries to include everyone for them to talk a little bit about topics they wish to talk about. Preferably no loud arguments because scary. And trying their best to frame negative opinions on things in a way to not demotivate or hurt other people :)

Being Active

for example, to be an ally, i think real allyship comes from being active. reading, speaking, seeking out learning, taking action in the ways we can. holding yourself accountable needs to be active in this way - thinking about what we’re saying, what we’re doing, how does this / has this affected those around me?

i feel like some of the most productive conversations i’ve had have been while “off topic”, so not having a set topic could really help create an environment where people can freely share ideas

Personally I don't mind the space being more structured/with a set agenda each week but with a section for everyone to mention things important to them or things they'd like to bring up for that week :))

I think it might be good to start more formally so people can contribute without feeling worried about what to contribute, but maybe developing a more open forum during the meeting when we feel safe and comfortable to.

if people feel up for it, i love doing check ins!! just a minute or so to check in with the group around us. for example, how you’re feeling right now (hungry, happy, sleepy?) or how your day went (stressful, nice, long). just to kind of center yourself and the space around you
