·         He would need to build a manufacturing plant for his product. Unfortunately, he could not afford the price of building a plant due to World War II. But Honda is not giving up and invented a new way to build his plant.

·         Honda’s piston plant was hit and partially destroyed several times due to the increased bombings of Japan by the Americans. 

·         Honda was also faced obstacles when a massive earthquake completely wiped out his manufacturing plants. Due to this earthquake, Honda was completely out of business. 

·         There was time when Honda could not afford the cost of creating motorized bikes and could not finding any investors. But not to give in failure, Honda explained his motorized invention to the 18,000 bike shops by sending them hand-written letter. As a result, he had formed strategic alliances with some of the shops and soon could begin to produce their first ever motorized bikes.

Soichiro Honda work hard to achieve his dream.  Every day he would go to school and all night long he would work on his design, usually up to his elbows in grease. He spent whatever little money he had on his project and he even hocked his wife’s jewellery to continue working on it. 

(b)       Passion toward goals (Great Inventor)

After years of effort Soichiro finally had completed his design that he was sure Toyota would buy but when he took it to them they rejected it. He had to go back to school and suffer the humiliation of his teachers and friends telling him what an idiot he was for wasting his time and designing something so ridiculous. He was broke and frustrated but he wasn’t about to give up on his dream that easily.  He spent the next two years continuing to find way to make the piston ring better and finally after two more years he refined his design and Toyota bought it.

(c)     Build teamwork 
Soichiro Honda decided to go ahead and build factory. He got together a group of his friends, and for weeks they worked around the clock trying different approaches until they found a new way to manufacture concrete. Finally he was able to build his factory and start manufacturing his piston rings.

(d)       Making wise decision 
Soichiro Honda reacted to all the problems and circumstances he encountered. Numerous times along his journey events were out of his control but what led to Honda’s success is what he could control. He decided to think, believe, feel and take action in a manner which always kept him moving towards his dream.

2. He do not give up his dream

      In 1938, Honda was forced to switch his attention to military machinery as Japan found itself in times of war. It wasn’t until 1948 that Honda returned to his passion of developing motorcycles and cars with the creation of Honda Motor Co. with a partner, Takeo Fujisawa. If Honda give up that time, A comfortable and awesome automotive mobile will never exist.

3. Ask help from other
Honda ask Takeo Fujisawa for his help to help him expand the company. Honda is a inventor not a salesman. So he learn how to sell his product from the expert. Knowing his own limitations in paperwork and the everyday running of a business, Honda and Fujisawa seemed to compliment each others attributes. 

4. A largely self confident individual
Honda had enormous belief in his own ability. Honda took this self-confidence into his apprenticeship at Art Shokai where his strong work ethic and dedication earned him a great deal of trust from his employer, Sakakibara. It was
evident that Honda was prepared to “walk the talk” by consistently proving his work ethic and enthusiasm for his job which was rewarded by his managerial appointment at the Hamamatsu branch. That confident help him become a great leader and manager.
