The given diagram illustrates the main stages which take place in the life cycle of a butterfly.
Overall, it is noticeable that a typical butterfly experiences five primary phases throughout its life-time.
The life cycle of a butterfly begins when a muture butterfly lays an egg on a milkwood leaf. Between 5 and 10 days, a caterpillar emerges from an egg. It eats the leaf on which it was born. It then sheds its old skin five or 6 times as it grows. This development stage takes 2 weeks.
During the next stage, the caterpillar spins itself into a cocoon, which is known as a pupa. After that, the cocoon opens and welcomes a butterfly with different colors. The butterfly continues to develop to its full maturity and prepares the mating and egg-laying stages. The full life cycle of a butterfly lasts starts all over again.

At the first stage of the life cycle, a butterfly begins life as an egg on a milkwood leaf. The egg remains on this shelter for about 5 to 10 days before it hatches. The newborn butterfly normally called larva caterpillar feeds on the leaf. The caterpillar also sheds its skin five to six times during this stage before it builds a cocoon which is also known as a pupa.
After that, the caterpillar transformed into a young butterfly during the pupa stage. After breaking/ tearing off the cocoon, it takes the young butterfly from 2 to 3 weeks to turn into an adult. The life cycle of the butterfly repeats itself.

To begin with, an adult butterfly lays eggs on the milkwood leaf. Between 5 and 10 , the egg hatches and the larva caterpillar, in the second stage, appears. In the period of 3 weeks, larva starts to moults from 5-6 times. On the third stage, the larva starts to grow into pupa. The last stage is the most noticeable one because the adult butterfly begins to emerge from the pupa in a 2-3 week period. The butterfly reaches the adulthood in the 12 months and the cycle will then repeat over again.

The given diagram depicts how a butterfly develops through various stages in its lifespan. Overall, there are four main stages in the lifespan of a typical butterfly starting with an egg and lasting for a year.First of all, a butterfly's life cycle begins as an adult one lays its egg on a milkwood leaf. The egg then hatches after approximately 5 to 10 days and the larva caterpillar emerges, feeding on the whole leaf During this phase, the caterpillar sheds its skins for 5 to 6 times in three weeks before experiencing a pupa process. At the subsequent stage of the process, after being in a pupa for 14 to 21 days, the caterpillar transforms into a young adult butterfly which continues to grow in size to a mature one. The butterfly has reached adulthood and is ready to lay an egg again. The cycle will then start again at the same place where it begins.

The diagram depicts how a butterfly grows from an egg to a mature individual.
Overall, there are 5 main stages in the life cycle of butterflies starting with eggs.
To begin with, an adult butterfly lays an egg on a milkwood leaf where they will stick to over the period of 5 to 10 days before changing to the next stage. At the second stage of the process, the egg hatches and turns into a larva caterpillar. The caterpillars, then, feed on the leaves on which they are laid and expand the feeding round to other leaves nearby. It normally takes them 3 or 4 weeks to shed their skin up to 5 or 6 times to finish this stage.
The fourth stage is a remarkable one which marks the beginning of a distinct life of this insect. The larva creates a cocoon called a pupa in which the caterpillar spends the next several months before a butterfly emerges from the pupa. The reproductive stage then begins as the mature starts to lay eggs after 2 or 3 weeks outside. The life cycle of a butterfly starts again at the same place where it begins.
