Both adults and children who belonged to poor families worked very hard, often times with difficult jobs. They worked for long hours and were paid unfairly.

The kids were overworked in horrible condition. They were close to starving and often died from diesease.

You can see that the factory has more children working than adults. Child labor was common at the time and young employees often worked for long hours and had unfair pay
