On the 9th to the 20th may 2016 an unannounced inspection was taken at HMP Bedford Prison. It was then discovered that the rating of the inspection was unacceptable. Bedford Prison holds 493 prisoners, which all where living in cramped conditions, dealt with a continual problem of drugs and legal substances. An inmate spoke to ibtimes (P.Wright, 7th November) stating how it was much easier to get hold of drugs rather then being able to have clothing or bed sheets. Even though the prison has a good knowledge of when and where violence occurs, Very little is being done about it.
