I think, because the English is the cradle of the technology we know today and the second most spoken language in the world, and also for the culture and ease that one has nowadays in speaking English.

I think that English will not be replaced by another as a universal language because of the large amount of material that already exists in English, I think it will always be a very strong language. But perhaps it can coexist with another like the mamdarim for example.
