In this library it has over 85 lesson plans which are developed directly from from intervention studies which are used to identify the evidence-based interventions in secondary transition. I like this resource because you may be stuck on how to start a plan or how to even construct it. This resource has a lot of starters that have a broad subject span that has the basics so you can reference ideas from it. This could be useful for me as a future Speech-Language Pathologist, and for all future educators/professionals that will work with individuals with disabilities. The resource provides background information/resources on how to conduct and employ transition assessments. I think this would be useful for me because it covers everything one needs to know about transition planning assessments, which Speech-Language Pathologists may not have a lot of background or experience in but might have to be present during IEP meetings regarding transition planning with a student they work with. Backward chaining, computer-assisted instruction, constant time delay, and community-based instruction were a few of the practices that were included in the document. One practice that was included in this document that I was already familiar with was the use of Mnemonics to teach various skills. I would use this document to experiment with these practices in my classroom and to explore what practices benefit my students the most. This document provides great ideas of how to give students life experiences, skill-building activities, and how to tailor lessons to student interest.

There’s a lot there about teaching employment and life skills which I found interesting, because in middle/high school we were taught very little in those areas. In high school there was a “life skills” class, but was only available to special education students, and very little was done with the class. I would use this resource to take ideas from for my own lesson plans in the future. Such as leisure skills, social skills, self-determination skills, choice and decision making and so many more. Lesson plans can be very difficult to start so having these starters provided for a plethora of different topics could be so useful when teaching life skills to individuals. I feel like teaching different life skills can also be difficult in general which is another reason why this resource is so useful. West Virginia's DRS can help students of all disabilities transition from high school to college to employment.
