Before Europeans arrived, the Inca civilization had the largest empire anywhere in the Americas.
Population: About 10 million people
Incan government was organized sort of like the Roman Empire.
Language: Quechua (Still spoken by millions of South Americans.  
By 1572, the Inca society had been completely destroyed by the Spain, Francisco Pizarro and his army to be exact.
Religion: The Inca believed that their own ruler, Inca Sapa was half human, half god himself. The Inca also believed that Inti was the most important of the gods to the Inca (god of the sun). Inti was married to the goddess of the moon, Mama Quilla.
