Before the United States had actually involved itself officially, we fed supplies and materials to our allies to aid them. As the war waged on, it was clear that victory for the Axis powers would spell trouble for not only our allied countries involved, but the whole world.

Following the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, it was of the public opinion that the United States of America could not let this slide. The U.S. officially declared war on Japan the following day.
