One of the barriers is that people often lack the basic tools / structure to make events happen and so it can feel like an overwhelming task. The value that Wilsome has been able to bring to the process is, obviously, our time and perhaps just as importantly our understanding of how to make a simple event plan, contact key stakeholders, engage them with a straighforward ask that is easy for them to say yes to, organise logistics using simple digital documents, make use of collaborative digital communication platforms like Zoom and Google Docs, and ensure that everyone knows what is happening when and what their role is.

We want to find a partner to test and develop a very simple digital  "toolkit" and "how to" resource which could be shared with people in other communities to help them organise events of this kind where they are.

These issues have been increasingly pitted against each other, as if in competition. Without our own values-led stories, the more we try to myth-bust, correct and debunk, the more we risk reinforcing the idea that there is a trade-off between the two.  

 

Which is why we need our own effective shared stories across movements.
