         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Topic: </strong>Nonverbal Communication in an Educational Setting.</p><p><strong>Educational context: </strong>Further Education.</p><p><strong>Target Learners: </strong>Further Education students at Whitehall College Of Further Education.</p><p><strong>Learning Design Approach:</strong> The ABC learning design approach.</p><p><strong>Timing: </strong>90minute lesson.</p><p><strong>Session Learning Outcomes</strong></p><p><strong>1) Understand the role of Non-Verbal Communication in Education.</strong></p><ul><li><p>Students will be able to describe the importance of non-verbal communication in creating a positive learning environment.</p></li></ul><p><strong>2) Identify key forms of non-verbal communication.</strong></p><ul><li><p>Students will be able to identify and explain different forms of non-verbal communication for example facial expressions, gestures, posture, eye contact, tone of voice and body language relevant to a classroom setting.</p></li></ul><p><strong>3) Enhance non-verbal cues in educational interactions.</strong></p><ul><li><p>Students will develop strategies to use non-verbal communication for example gestures, facial expressions and tone of voice to enhance teaching effectiveness and student comprehension. </p></li><li><p>Students will demonstrate the ability to modify their own non-verbal behaviors to improve classroom management, increase student rapport, and support diverse learning needs.</p></li></ul><p><strong>4) Reflect on Non-verbal communication in self and others.</strong></p><ul><li><p>Students will reflect on their own non-verbal communication habits in teaching or classroom interaction, identifying areas for improvement.</p></li><li><p>Students will critique and observe classroom scenarios, discussing their effects on learning and teacher-student rapport.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Break up work load</p><p>Students are much more likely to watch several short videos than one long video.</p><p>It is easier to organise and retain knowledge that is delivered in smaller chunks.</p></li><li><p>Student Interaction</p><p>Having students interact asynchronously can be a challenge. However there are technologies that allow students to interact. For examples, Forums, Voicethread, Workshop and Glossary.</p></li><li><p>Encourage active learning</p><p>Encourage active learning by creating activities that require student participation.</p></li><li><p>Monitor Student Activity</p><p>Monitoring student progress gives Teachers the opportunity to ensure student achievement, identify were students need help, and provide intervention when required.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
