Jos van Leeuwen is professor of Civic Technology at THUAS. His research group investigates how technology can contribute to a better information position of citizens and support constructive dialogue between citizens and government. The group mostly deploys a research through design approach, creating innovations and putting them to practice, studying their potential and impact, and developing knowledge on how to shape meaningful and effective civic technology. The main research lines we explore are deliberative participation, data visualisation, and AI-supported citizenship.
