The cave painting played a role as a cave man’s religious rituals.

When mixed with cave water, ochre makes yellow, red, and brown hues. Charcoal was also used for black. Oxidized metallic element manganese was also used for black paint. Hematite was a type of ferrous( containing or consisting of iron)oxide, provided reddish brown colors. Berries, soot, and clay were also used to paint. Sharp tools were used to etch into the rock. Those sharp tools were needed to draw lines and use them for things like showing the anatomy of people.
