Me and a few students of University Malaysia Kelantan report ourselves together around 11 o’clock. After reporting ourselves we were bring to the cafeteria by Mr Basham from the Human Resource Department. Then he gave us a form to fill up then tell us to have our lunch at the cafeteria. After that we were told to go for uniform testing three by three.

After having our uniform we were then bring to the staff quarters. We clean up the quarters and that’s the end of the day.

I was send to Horizon Pool F&B Department for the first few weeks. When I reach there Mr Wan and Mr Alias introduce themselves and teach me about my job scope. At Horizon Pool there is no kitchen and cashier so we will have to take order from the customers and then order at Cba and bring it back to the customers at the pool. After my shift ended I was so exhausted and directly fell asleep when I was back at the quarters.

For this shift we have to set up the booth and put all the button into places. There are around 43 button in total that we have to put together with the menu so that the guest can order when they want to. Mr Wan teach me what to do and how to do it for the whole set up. Then after set up Mr Wan told me that the guest can only starts to order starting on from 11:30 as that is the time when Cba Restaurant just finished clearing their breakfast buffet and can starts with the a la carte menu for lunch. After done everything Mr Wan bring me a menu of Horizon and tell me to have a look when I have nothing else to do.

This time Mr Wan already start to open up the booth, then he teach me how to fold the cloth that we cover the booth with and where to keep it. After that Mr Wan teach me how to fold the napkin for putting our cutleries for the guest. It was quite easy as I have learnt it in serving class last 2 semester. Then we just continue with our duty and wait for the guest to order. Today the pool was full of guest and we take looks of order. It was so tiring as we have to go and back to Cba for lots of times.

He told me not to stand under the sun for too long as we will faint. Today there are 4 person working so the work done is more efficient and easier as more hands make light work. Then around 5 something Ridzuan bring a golf cart that they called buggy and ask me to go do some clearing beside the beach. On the way he told me that some of the guest bring their drinks and meal to the beach, so every one hour we have to check on the beach see if there is anything to clear but is also depends on the number of guest and the number of staff working. It’s not very hard as I did the opening before and I know where to keep all the stuff back.

Mr Q the supervisor of Cba give me a short brief about what to do and where to find all the things needed and then tell me to start do clearing and help out. After done everything around 11:15 they tell me that I can already go back to Horizon and continue with my duty.

At 7:30 at the guests arrived and have their dinner. the dinner ends at around 11;30 and we stay to clean up till 12 something.
