The double decker bus has always been one of the symbols of London, along with Big Ben, telephone booths and the subway. Unfortunately, traditional double deckers were decommissioned a few years ago.

Although Londoners were very fond of the old buses, today there are only 9 and 15 lines served by the old double deckers in central London, preserved mainly for tourist reasons and for historical memory.

Some of the decommissioned buses have been purchased by companies that use them for weddings and parties.

In the stories, the Hogwarts Express uses a secret platform, at "platform 9¾", accessible through the brick wall between platforms 9 and 10. platforms 9, 10 and 11 are located in a building separate from the main station which is accessed from a pedestrian passage in the wall between platforms 8 and 9. In 1999 a plaque with "Platform 9¾" written was hung near the passage that connects the main station with the building of tracks 9-11. Under the sign was a part of a luggage trolley so that it seemed that only the end with the handle was visible while the rest seemed to have disappeared into the wall. this "trolley" became a popular tourist attraction among Harry Potter fans.
